A Lovely Surprise

June 26, 2017

Good morning.  Gosh, sleeping was so good last night that I stayed under my covers as long as I could this morning.  Alas, I had to get up to make breakfast for Pogo and a cup of coffee for me.  It's a good thing too.  We had a substitute mailman this morning, and he came super early.  Pogo likes to be outside to bark when the mailman brings the mail, so he let me know as soon as he saw the mail truck pull up.

I got a lovely surprise in my email yesterday.  Beth, thank you so much.  This is beautiful.  Such a nice way to start my day.

Yesterday, was a super day for sitting out on the porch.  I re-potted one house plant and planted some strawberry plant seeds.  I have to say, I made quite the mess and got dirt everywhere.  But, it all came up with the vacuum cleaner, so all is well.

Audrey sent me this fun photo of Alena and Grandpa (Mac) having a grand time together.  This looks like such awesome fun!

I know I mentioned before that Audrey and Mac live way out in the boonies.  They are surrounded by fields of cotton, corn, soybeans and peanuts.  Yesterday was the day for aerial spraying over the crops.  Here's a couple of photos that Audrey took of the spray plane.  (I'm sure it's called something better than "spray plane")

Meanwhile, back here in New England, the sun was shining brightly and all of a sudden the rains came.  Oh my, what a delightful surprise!  I tried to take photos of the rain but it's really hard to photograph raindrops while the sun is shining.  Sad to say, the rain only lasted a few moments.

Later, Pogo talked Joe into giving him a second turkey treat.  My little fellow is such a cutie that you just can't say no to him.  Ah well, it's such a small price to pay for making Pogo so happy.  Afterwards, I cooked hamburgers for supper.  I also made rice, but then forgot about it and left it out in the bowl overnight.  (covered, of course)  Bye bye rice!

Daughter Deanne is off work now for at least a week so I'm hoping that she and I can go shopping one day this week. There are a few things that I really need to get out and do.  After that, I can settle down again for a while.

Well, the morning is passing by quickly and I want to sit out on the porch for a while.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,

Lovely pictures... especially the smile on the baby girl's face. The plane in question is a Crop Duster... Just a little info for you there.

It dawned on me that yesterday I didn't get to finish your blog because we ended up chatting on the phone and I forgot about it.. But here I am.

I went over to my group a bit ago and it seems that they might close the thread because people are leaving too long of messages. It was no restrictions when it first came out and then it was cut to only 6 lines and now this month it was back to no restrictions and now they may not even open it again because some are not happy with the longer messages.
Well I will be sad if they close it but it is what it is. I am not going to cry either way, but it was really good to be able to connect to our members but I have a feeling that I know who the culprits are behind this. Always a few that gets their panties in a twisted knot.

We got a ton of rain last night along with Thunder and Lightening and it was nice that I could listen to it. I didn't go out to the patio because the wind was sending the rain straight inside the patio so I enjoyed from afar.

I hope that you have a fantastic day my friend. Give Pogo lots of kisses for me and Pogo sends love to the two of you too... Love, Beth

What a lovely layout Beth made!

I am making almost always a mess when re-potting, but it isnlt so bad and with a broom it is gone quickly again.
Would be wonderful if you could go with Deanne shopping. Sometimes shopping alone has advantages, but it is at times also nice to have company.
We have had some rain too, not lots, till now here not really enough to have drinks for all the plants and trees, I think.
See you at next post.
