Temps Are Up Today. WooHoo!!

January 10, 2017

Good morning.  Well, it's a little warmer this morning.  Temperature is at 29 F degrees, and working towards the 40's.   What a pleasant respite from the cold from the last couple of days.  Tomorrow is supposed to be warm too, although it will be raining.  That's okay, the rain is much better than the freezing temps.

What does Pogo do when the temperature dips way down low?  Here's a couple photos of him keeping warm.

Oh yeah, that's not just a pile of blanket.  That's a nice cozy little nest with a very small doggie sleeping in there.  Have I mentioned how clever my little guy is?  He knows how to stay warm!

Yesterday I received an envelope full of information from the accountant.  I've been looking over the papers, and it's amazing the information the government asks for in order for you to file your taxes. You need to provide:  Your driver's license number, driver's license state, issue date, theft protection pin.  Now I ask you, why is any of this information necessary in order to pay your taxes?

I will have to call the accountant to find out what this is all about.  I don't ever remember having to submit this sort of information.  I'll also have to ask him when my appointment to come in will be.  According to the information in the packet, it looks like I just mail him the numbers with answers to all the questions, and he will just figure things out and file my taxes.  Excuse me?  Whatever happened to personal contact with your customer?

Time for me to change the subject or I'll be off on a new rant.  I think I'll open the inside door soon so that Pogo can sit by the door and watch what's going on outside.  Maybe after lunch, we'll take a little walk in the yard.  That depends on how much snow is still on the ground.  Pogo doesn't have boots yet.  Actually, I don't either.  I can't remember when I last had boots.  I think maybe it was when I was just a little kid.

I found an interesting article in the newspaper about how to improve your credit score.  You should regularly check your score and report.  Have a system to pay your bills on time.  Maintain a budget and track your expenses.  Minimize use of available credit.  Try not to use more than 30% of your available credit.  Think twice about applying for new credit.  Protect yourself from identity theft.  Sign up for ongoing credit monitoring, such as from myFICO.com.

I found a chart on the web that shows how your credit is scored.  This is good information to know.  You never know when your credit background is going to be needed.

Well, that's my news for today.  It's getting late, (I slept really late this morning) and it's time for me to get busy around here.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I am beginning to type again. Not for a long period of time. I had surgery on my right hand (I am right handed) on the 19th of October 2016 because the arthritis was locking my fingers which is called trigger finger. I really can't say if it's better or worse. It's not locking but sometimes there's no use of this hand. I don't worry about it too much because I am waking up each day and Life might not be the party we want all the time but as long as we are in it, we should keep on dancing. I am like you on all this info because some of our information is just for our use and not the accountant. Be careful with it because the world is just full of it. I am getting emails pretending to be from my credit card companies asking me to update my personal information. When you highlight the link it's from someone with a Hotmail account. I doesn't save passwords anymore. That's true about the credit score. I use credit.com and credit sesame. It let you know where you stand and also alert you if your credit is checked by anyone. It's free. Your credit card companies are also offering credit score information. Hug Pogo for me. Hand is beginning to feel uncomfortable now. Hope your New year is a great one and have a great day. although I can't type all the time but I am reading. (lol)

There is a lot of tax scams going on. I suggest you not furnish them anything. Let your accountant handle it. Stay warm and safe.

You have to be carefull with providing information But if it is "legal stuff'yes, i know how amazing it sometimes what info government wants from you just to pay taxes
Most of it they already have somewhere, but we have to privide it over and over again.
Oh, I just don;t wnat to think yet abut gathering all stuff to send to my accountant for the taxes. Time soon will be there, but please, can i forget about it just for a few more weeks????
Pogo really knows how to keep warm and lay soft.
Weather here is about okay, next week will be colder again with even chance to some snowfall. we'll see.
Keep warm and have a wonderful day.

This must be something new because they found out that millions of dollars were being sent to prisons where the prisoners filed before you did and when you went to file the money was already gone. Double verification. Besides almost any information can be found on line but not sure about license information. If you would prefer ice we are buried in it in Wisconsin...rain just before a snow storm. Everyone has been chipping away since last Wed and now a repeat is suppose to happen today. We have been canceling everything we don't need to go to. Stay warm. Mary Ann
