Shall We Dance?

January 31, 2017

Good morning.  Tis sunny and cold at the moment, but the forecast says we might be getting snow today.  Hmmm, we'll see.  It's really hard to forecast the weather here, and get it right.  Tomorrow is supposed to be the warmest day of this week, so I guess Pogo and I will go to Town Hall tomorrow and pay the taxes and get his new dog license.

Actually, the bill is due tomorrow, so I have to go whether I want to or not.  No more procrastinating, I've run out of time.  Somehow, that's me though.  I put things off till I can't anymore.  Especially if it means going out.  I'm not so keen on going places alone anymore.

Yesterday, Deanne came by after work and we went to the shooting range.  My daughter is really good with the bigger pistol, whereas I'm better with the .22 pistol.  Deanne did awesome, as usual.  My right hand was hurting quite a bit (arthritis) but still I didn't do too badly.  Here's my target sheet.

Last night, I finished up the hat I was crocheting.  Here's a photo of the whole set (scarf and hat).

I have another scarf almost finished.  This one is a light orchid color.  Once it's finished, and the hat is made, I'll go back and make hats for the other scarves too.  I think some scarves will have fringe, while some hats will have a pom pom on the top.

Last evening, I rinsed my dishes and left them in the kitchen sink.  As soon as I finish this post, I'll have to get them washed.  I prefer washing them as soon as they are used, but sometimes it can't be helped.

How about some sassy trivia?  Did you know that Grand Duke Alexis Romanov, son of the Czar of Russia, spent his 22nd birthday hunting buffalo in Nevada with Buffalo Bill Cody and General Custer?

I'll bet you didn't know that Henry Ford, the automobile magnate, published an instructional dance book in 1926.  It was titled "Good Morning",   and subtitled  "After a Sleep of Twenty-Five Years, Old-Fashioned Dancing is Being Revived by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ford."

Well that's my news for this morning.  I'm off now to wash those dishes.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oh My Goodness, your scarf set is gorgeous! I wish I had such talent. My friend Linda (Prairie Flower Farm) is learning to knit. Her elderly aunt has been with them and now resides at a senior home. she is teaching Linda. Linda and her hubby and oldest daughter own a market/coffee house in Sterling, Kansas. She doesn't blog like she did, makes me sad! But she is always knitting socks or something fun.
I tell you, I can see Pogo playing with the little rabbits! LOL!Bandit is very elderly these days and blind but last summer, he sat with a baby rabbit when they were nesting under our shed. The other dogs had not seen them and I was searching for Bandit and there he sat with a silly bunny just enjoying the sunshine! Of course, did not have my camera. Those rabbits are quick. They are everywhere. I don't know how they stand the cold, we were down to -8 lst week. But we have 55-60 since Saturday. I heard Thursday the freezing rain is headed our way :-(.
I wanted to get Rebekah a nice scarf and hat and mittens for Christmas but all the ones I liked were as expensive as a winter coat! I like different winter caps and hats. I am a hat person. There was a time ladies all wore hats all the time. now it is primarily the British.
I bet Pogo would love Bandit. Although so old and blind, everyone loves his gentle heart. Our friends have a two year girl. She sat with Bandit and gently petted him until he was sound asleep. Avril kept repeating, I love you puppy, you are soooooo cute, I love you, oh you are so cute! HaHaHa! She is a sweet child! he enjoys kindnesses. Jeremy told Brittany when they married, he slept with him. the other two big dogs adjusted well to sleeping in their new comfy cozy beds at the foot of their bed. Hee Hee!
I am glad to stop by. I keep missing blog time. Seems like I post and something happens so I have to run off. Always good to see you here my friend. ENjoy a beautiful day.
Hugs
Anne
