Congratulations Dee Dee!!!

January 13, 2017

Good morning.  And a lovely morning it is indeed!  The sun is shining, and the temperature is 43F degrees.  After today, we'll have a few days in the 30's, then it is supposed to get back up into the 40's for a little while.  Wouldn't it be nice if we could make it through the whole winter with these temps?  Oh dream on girlie, dream on!!

Today I have good news.  Yesterday, daughter Deanne went to the Police Station and picked up her new LTC.  (license to carry)  And later this afternoon, she and I are going to the shooting range for a bit of practice.  Woo Hoo!!

Last evening, DIL Janet came by after work.  We had such a good time chatting that we didn't even watch an episode of our favorite TV show.  We'll save that for next week.  Later, when I closed my eyes to go to sleep,  um --- I actually slept until eight o'clock this morning.  Wow!!  That hasn't happened in quite a while.

Well, this morning I gave Pogo a dish of one of the new doggie foods.  He actually gave it a "two second" look, no sniff, and walked away.  Well, my goodness!  Did I really expect any other reaction?  Hmmm, I wonder how he'll be liking supper tonight.  It's going to be more doggie food.  Gosh, I wonder if dog whisperers are expensive to hire.  Maybe one of them could find out why Pogo doesn't want to eat his doggie food.  Ah, just thinking out loud.

This morning I played a bit in Photoshop, just for fun.  I took a couple of photos, enhanced the sky colors in them, blended the two together, applied a few filters and voila!!  A new background overlay!  Here's a layout showing the two photos, the blending and the finished product.

One can still do a lot more with this image.  New colors and filters can be applied, the lighting can be changed, etc.  I think I'm going to play with it a bit more.  I have a few ideas that I want to try.  If you want to try it, send me a picture of what you come up with.

Marie Osmond is on TV showing off that snazzy new figure of hers (gosh, I sound jealous!!) that she got from eating the food from Nutrisystem.  She's not telling anyone that the fifty pounds that she lost would be dangling from her arms, legs and belly had she not been at the gym every single day that she was dieting.  A friend of mine tried this system.  It really did work, but she had to go to the gym and exercise early every morning before going to work in order to keep the new flab firm.

Ah well, the morning is dwindling away, and I really should do a few things around here.  So, until Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oh Dear Edna,

Just don't understand Pogo. We should find out about a dog whisperer. It might be cheaper than throwing out good food for him. I wonder if he ate something at one time and that it made him sick?
My Cisco is slowing down so much lately. He sleeps a lot more than he is awake. He is still active and playing but I notice that he naps a lot more. The top of his head is a round spot that is turning almost totally gray! Perhaps he has the winter blues. I know that the lack of sunshine brings me into a dreary mood.

Congratulations to Dee Dee... what a great time for a celebration with a trip to the shooting range. I was going to give you a call but I will wait for tomorrow as you will be busy today. I really want you to be careful shooting with your arm and wrist still healing. Yeah I know that I am being a mama here but... what can I say?

I am heading to the doctor for my yearly appointment. I better go while I can. Trump's plan will cut out a lot of my healthcare insurance. I have had people tell me that it will be a long time before it changes a lot but I am worried. Especially for the programs that I qualify for like the ride assistance program. Right now I have unlimited ride assistance, but have been told that it is going to be cut to 12 a year. We will see.

I will work on my blog sometime today. I love the filters. I am going to see what I can do with some of my photos. It should be fun... It is 1:30 and I have to still have some lunch, shower and dress and get ready for the doctor appointment. Then I have to set up 2 more appointments today that I have been putting off.
I had a lot of pain in my left leg last night. It was really late by the time that it stopped hurting. I ended up with 2 pain pills and 2 hours later I took 2 Tylenol and that finally helped enough to stop the pain so I could sleep.

At least I am passing the time by watching "The Crown" a series on Netflix. I am really enjoying it but today I have to crochet as I haven't done so in a few days... Take care... talk to you soon. Hugs to you and Pogo from Cisco and Beth

Congrats to Dee Dee!
And wonderful you could go to the shooting range.
It will take some time before pogo even will take a little bite from the doggie food. He is so used to get other food, so you should hold on for a couple of days and see if he gets really hungry, then he might try a bit of the doggie food.
Could also be like Beth said, that Pogo once had some doggie food and that he got sicj of it. But although it will break your heart, keep on trying for a bit longer. If you have different samples, try them, before giving him his "usual"food.
Don;t think a dog whisperer will help much. Perhaps you can talk to the vet about it.
Yesterday we had some rain. but in our area it didn;t storm as much as we expected I even went out yesterday for a moment.
Today we will get some more rain, some snowfall may be more east.
Then a few days of frost and it looks that by the end of next week wind will turn to West, so temperatures will go up again. Not much, but above freezing and that already is something!
Now time for me to have a little sandwich and then i probably will play a bit in PSE
Have a lovely day and weekend
Hug

There's no more discerning taste than that of a dog or cat. Left Brain will eat anything, I'm pretty much the same. The cats...much fussier. It's so disconcerting when they decide they no longer like the old standards.
Your Photoshop projects are lovely. I haven't played with any of that for some time now as there's just too much to enjoy here in Arizona. I imagine I'll revisit it when we get back to Minnesota.
