It's Time To Buy Your Turkey

November 20, 2016

Good morning.  Tis looking a bit dismal outside this morning.  The weather forecast for today and the next two days calls for temps in the low 40's and night temps below freezing.  Not exactly my cup of tea.  Thank goodness I have lots of crafts to work on till Spring gets here.

Last evening, I finally finished the turquoise afghan.  Yeaaaaah!  Who knows, maybe I can finish the flamingo afghan soon too.  I only have fifty six more rows to go on it.  After that, I'm already picking out colors for the next couple of afghans.  Plus, I dug out my pattern for a crocheted toddler sized dress.  I think I'd like to make a couple of these for Spring.  Our last two babies will both be walking by then.

There will be no work done on the porch screen panels this weekend because both Eddie and Deanne have caught wicked colds.  Maybe next weekend, we'll see.  If push comes to shove, I can cover the front panels with a heavy duty plastic temporarily until we can make the regular weather panels.  Maybe during the week, Pogo and I will take a ride to Home Depot and buy the plastic.

Have you all bought your turkey for Thanksgiving?  I bought mine a few days ago, and it has been in the refrigerator thawing.  It's not a big one, just big enough for Pogo and me to have a meal, then I will bag the rest for salad.  Yum yum.

I don't think I mentioned this earlier, but I will be participating in the Worldwide Christmas Scrapbooking Freebies event again.  On December 1, I will post my contribution along with a link to the website where you will find all the other freebies.

I haven't been out taking any new photos lately, so I dug into my scrap archives and found a scrap kit from 2011, when my friend Su and I first started making collab kits.  This is just my part of the kit.  If you can use it, here are the previews and the links.

Here are the download links:
Expired

I will contact my friend Su to see if she still has the links to her portion of the kit.  If she does, and wants to share them, I'll post them at a later date.

********I've had to take a break here to tend to things in the main house.  And, now I have to get back out there to keep an eye on things for a while.  On that note, I'll take my leave.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,

Turkey salads does sound good. I even like turkey soup as well and it is nice that you can bag up small bits for you and pogo for those days. Easy to take out and to thaw.

I was wondering if you all would get some of that heavy snow that has headed east? I sure hope that you don't see much of that this year. The weather man stated that we would drop into freezing temps last night, but I haven't actually seen the weather today to know if it did or not.
I brought my plants in to be safe a couple of nights ago. But today it is just gorgeous outdoors.

Karyn is not doing much better. I think that I told you she was fighting a migraine, so we are putting off our grocery shopping until later on. She is going to the clinic. I know that after the shot and fluids she will be alright. This is the first really bad one where she has actually needed to go in for fluids and a shot in a while. Bless her heart tho. When she gets them like this I know that they are bad. She fights going to the doctor so for her to say that she needed to go, well I know that she really is sick.

I am so sorry to hear that Eddie and Deanne are sick. I hope that they will be feeling better soon. I also hope that the kids do not get it as well.
Plastic will work until you can get the panels finished for your porch. I hope that they don't have to see a doctor and be out the expense of medical costs.

Ok so we are headed out now. Jonathan is ready and so am I. Give Pogo my love and I will talk to you soon... xx Beth and Cisco

I think the plastic will do fine if you think you will need to do it. Pity that Eddie and his friend cannot finish their work for now. But poor Deanne and Eddie to have catched that cold. They should first take care of theirselves(and make sure as much as they can, that the kids donlt catch it too)
Hopefully it will be better real soon and then Eddie can finish the winter panels for the porch.
We don;t celebrate Thanksgiving here, so no need to buy some turkey LOL.
But a small one will provide you and Pogo enough for some portions to make a salad.
This morning Jan and I were up real early(6.30 !!!), Jan had to go to hospital for a MRI and blood test and as I needed to have a bloodtest too for my appointment next week at the hospital I went with him Oh boy, it is really hard to get up that early again. We aren;t used to it anymore. Well, Jan did take a good nap after we came home again, I tried to do the same, did sleep a l;ittle bit, then woke up with some kind of bad dream, brrrr, so I will have to catch up the sleep this night.
How is your ellbow doing??? Gues the arm has a range of colors by now.
Take care and have a wonderful day.
Hug
Kyra

(Fun to see that "old"kit of yours and Su)

We are having two Thanksgiving dinners this week! On Thursday we are going to our daughters in-laws. We are good friends with them. On Saturday, our daughter and son-in-law are making dinner just for us and their two little girls. So we have a wealth of blessings this week.

Thank you for your lovely creations.

Have a great Thanksgiving

All the best to you from
