Only 24 Days Till Halloween

October 7, 2016

Good morning.  Oh what a beautiful day we have here in my little part of New England.  The sun is shining, there's a wee bit of a breeze and the temperature will be in the mid70's today.  It's an awesome day to be out doing errands.  And that's just what Pogo and I will do.

I slept rather choppy during the night, but eventually I fell into a good sleep.  So good that I got up rather late this morning.  This morning, I'm just waiting for the mailman to come and then Pogo and I will be off and running.  (to a couple stores, of course!)

I had thought that I might do some laundry today, but I slept late, so something has to go.  I guess the laundry will have to wait until tomorrow.  That's the beauty of retirement.  If you get things done, that's good.  If you don't, so who cares?  hahaha

Daughter Deanne has been shopping and getting ready for Halloween.  She found a really cute doggie costume, and Sassy couldn't wait to try it on.  (Sassy can be a little bossy when she wants to be)  Deanne sent me a photo of Sassy in the costume.  Oh my gosh, isn't she just cutest?

Look at those big eyes!!  How could you not fill her treat bucket right to the top?  Sassy girl, you look absolutely adorable!

Yesterday, I called the eye doctor to make an appointment for an eye exam.  Would you believe, the only appointment I could get this month is  a day next week at 8:30 in the morning.  I did not know that doctors started working that early in the morning.

Anyway, I need new glasses, so I need a new prescription.  Four years ago, and two years ago, I had an eye exam and got a new prescription (not changed from the one before)  but life got in my way, and I never made it to the eyeglass store to get new glasses.  The frame on my glasses is the same frame that was used the last time I got new glasses.  (my choice) So, I really do think it's time for a new pair of glasses.

For my friends who have kitty cats, I found this awesome mug in one of my new catalogues.  This is exactly how all of us with fur babies feel.

I'm still watching the Weather Channel to keep up with news of Hurricane Matthew.  It looks like Virginia might only get heavy rains and some wind.  But Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas are being hit really hard.  Hopefully, everyone there has found shelter and will be safe.

Well that's my news for today.  Now it's time to get dressed and wait for the mail to be delivered.  Then Pogo and I can go out and enjoy this gorgeous day.  So, till Sunday, be safe, and have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

You are right to take advantage of the nice weather, and go out with ogo.
Exciting to get new glasses, hahaha But great that you will try to find a new frame. It sometimes is not easy to find one that suites you and that you like at the same time.
So whenever you have your new glasses, we expect a photo of you, of course.
I think I will go to the market today, weather is nice enough and we could do with some fresh vegetables
And in the afternoon I will prepare dinner and mae enough for two days, how smart! lol
Then the day will be spent rather well and I can watch some tv before Jan gets home(like a favourite of mine Gardener's world of the BBC).
Have a wonderful day.

Oh my goodness Sassy has a cute Halloween costume! I had to stop by before I head off to some sweet dreams and a bit of rest. Always appreciate your friendship and your comments at my blog. I am changing things up a bit and staying away from social media. I had enjoyed it, talking with phamily and friends and I just really can not stand the political drama and other nonsense over there. The hatefulness, bullies, back biting, just isn't something I care for. So am finishing my two final days of posting Scripture and then I wont go back. I received a lot of flack for posting my Scripture and found out who is really true to God and who isn't so I don'y need it. I will only check my private messages there because the Encouragement group posts private info regarding people to send encouragement to. We had so many law enforcement and Veteran's too. Really makes a person think when you look around at what is going on in the world. So much sadness.
Good to have those nice Fall temps. We had a rainy day and then we bounced back! We had our flu shots and I started feeling poorly the next day. Still a little loopey today but my hubby was ok until last night. It is better to have a few days of crummy aches and pains then to get a bad flu bug and be bed ridden!
I received both of my packages from the Tea Cup/Tea Mug Exchange I participated in. New tea to try, some tasty treats to eat and pretty tea cup and saucer and mug to share. Makes me smile. Take care and enjoy your Sunday. Joyfulness, Anne

Love the coffee cup! That is so true. Each house we looked at during our search we constantly referred to where the litter box would go, or if the area was a nice spot for the cats to safely enjoy.

Sassy looks great in the colorful outfit and I'm sure she'll be a smash for Halloween.
