Happy Birthday Cliff

July 15, 2016

Good morning.  My goodness, have you noticed that July is already half over?  It's going too quickly for my taste.  So isn't the morning.  I've been up for hours doing goodness knows what, and I haven't really accomplished anything.  So what else is new??

Cliff is back today doing a few things around here for me.  I did not know it until a couple hours ago, but today is his birthday.  I'd have had him come by another day.  I'm wishing you a Happy Birthday Cliff, and I hope the rest of your day is really nice.

Yesterday afternoon, I put the chairs on the porch just in time for the heavens to open up and treat us to a large dose of rain.  It did not last very long though, and then Pogo and I sat out on the porch for a little while.  Slowly, Pogo is getting used to the porch.  At first, I had to pick him up and carry him out there.  Now I just have to hold the door open and he goes out there by himself.

Here's a photo of my little guy sitting on the porch.  It's almost time for Joe to come home from work (yesterday) so he stayed right there and waited for Joe.

DIL Janet came by after work to pick up her cell phone (which she had forgotten to take home with her the night before), and we sat out on the porch for a bit.  Now I definitely know that I want to order two new chairs.  The ones that I got just aren't wide enough to be comfortable.  Us gals have sizable hineys.

I found an adorable cartoon on the web that I had to share here with you.  I seem to have quite a few days like this.

Do any of you get the Readers Digest?  This magazine has some great stories, and interesting word lists.  Did you know that there are only four root words in the English language that begin with "dw"?  Can you name them?  Go ahead and try.

Yesterday, Pogo and I went to the car dealership.  My car now has a clean bill of health and a new sticker;  and they washed my car windows for me.  This is so very appreciated because I can't reach the front windshield to wash it.  (both inside and outside)

Now I think I'll see about getting a few things done around here while I still have a speck of energy.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,
Yes I get the Readers Digest. It is one of my favorite magazines. I was reading in a magazine the other day at the doctors office that had tips for your garden so I wanted to pass them along to you.

1. Plants need Iron. Got some rusty nails laying around. Push a few into your flower beds.
2. Mix 1 part Epsom Salts to 3 parts water and give your flower beds a drink. About every 3 months.
3. Brew a pot of coffee, and let cool. A great additive to potted plants like Ivy. Use left over coffee grounds to mix into your soil.
4. Got any fish? Don't throw the water away when cleaning the tank or bowl. It will make a wonderful and natural fertilizer. Depending on how delicate your flowers are you could dilute it a little. You can also buy it in garden centers. Just ask someone knowledgeable if you don't have fish.
5. Roses LOVE Garlic.. Plant a few bulbs in your rose beds.

Ok that is my tips for today.
So on Monday I go and see my pain doctor. I had to take 3 pain pills last night. Good old Fibro started acting up again Wednesday night. By last night I was hurting so bad. I didn't even eat supper. I had a small bowl of watermelon. Still hurting but it is lessening some.

Happy Birthday to Cliff and yes I agree that you need some new chairs. So happy Pogo is enjoying his new porch!!!!! Bless him. He is such a happy boy.

Time for my lunch time insulin and I think that I need a nap.. Hugs to the both of you. Beth and Cisco...

I love your porch. I need a patio on the back of my home. I doesn't know why this floor plan did not come with a patio. Some homes on my street has great patios. When my pain gets a bit better I will have home depot to deliver my pavers and my son and I will do the paved patio. I most likey do all the supervision. (lol) I know I hasn't been on line recently but my pain has been terrible. The steroids aren't doing very much good anymore. I try to stay quiet and take each day at a time because there's nothing anyone can do about this osteoarthritis. I just deal with it and when I can, I get active again. Pogo looks so handsome sitting on the porch. He looks like he is proud of his mommy. He is so blessed to have the love that you give him. My girls (babs and queen)are my heart and soul. I am afraid to leave them at home when I has to go places that won't allow them to go. Other than that, they are always with me. I live in a quiet area, but no area is good anymore. I always say, if the crooks break in they can take whatever they need but leave my girls alone. I have an alarm system, video survelliance but that doesn't matter to the thieves anymore. This guy was stealing packages off someone door step and he did the bad sign(shot the bird) to the camera. Enjoy your porch and I know you will be able to relax without being bothered with the insects flying around. Have a great day weekend,

Happy you already had some time on the porch.
But I agree, you do need some comfortable chairs. erhaps you could find also a kind of chair, that you can clap completely flat as a bed? wouldn;t it be nice to take a nap in the cool shade of the porch on a summer afternoon??
Ever so nice of Cliff to come by on his birthday, I hope he had a lovely day.
Today I will go to heidi's home for the fish, so then I can stay home tomorrow. The fish can do two days with their food.
At the moment it is a bit cloudy, but it is said, that later today the sun will come through again. Hope so.
Have a wonderful weekend.

The porch looks great. We get Readers Digest, it's one of my favorite magazines with all the nice short stories and is one of the few that I will read from cover to cover. The only one I could think of was dweeb and I wasn't sure that was even a real work. Felt pretty foolish when I saw the others...duh.
