Do They Have Birthdays In Heaven?

July 18, 2016

Good morning.  Today's a big birthday way up yonder.  Here's hoping the guys are enjoying a lobster dinner.  That's what I cooked for them every year on their special day.  Two big lobsters each, corn on the cob, potato salad, garden salad, and whatever they wanted for dessert.  Mmmm, memories.

Today will be another scorcher.  It's going to be like this at least until the beginning of August.  That's according to the weather forecast.  It doesn't look like we'll be getting very much (if any) rain during this time either.  We're in sort of a drought situation.  We really do need some rain.

It's even warm all through the night.  I guess the trick is to get as much sleep as you can during the day, and then do as much as you can throughout the night when the temps aren't as hot.  Of course, if you work days, then this won't help you.

Today I have some cute photos of one of our squirrels to share with you.  I took these photos a few days ago.  We still have the dumpster in our yard, and this little squirrel has found some interesting things in it.  His treasure has writing on it, and it looks like he is reading it.

Wait a minute!!  He's not reading that thing.  He's actually trying to eat it!!

In the end, he decided to take it home with him.  I watched as he jumped down off the dumpster with his treasure in his mouth, and went running off towards his home.  Enjoy little fellow!

Today I have two appointments very close together, so I'm going to have to call and cancel one of them.  Gosh, I go from days with nothing happening to "overfull" days.  Ah well, at least I'm lucky enough to have all these days.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to spend some time with Aunt Lucy, and on Wednesday Pogo has a doctor appointment to get his rabies shot.  I'll see if she can give us something to take away Pogo's itch.  After that, the rest of the week should be rather quiet.  I think.

Well that's my news for today.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,
Wow what adorable photos of the squirrel. Too cute. My life is filled with Cuteness right now. I have my grandkids. Laurie and the kids came to spend the night with us. They will go home tonight.
So far it has been pancakes, bacon, milk and jello... what a combination right.

I wonder if some Aloe Vera gel might help soothe Pogo's itching. More little guy. I hope that his doctor can give him something to help him.

Not sure what the rug rats are into so I have to make a dash into the other room. The older 2 I am not worried about but the baby.... Well needless to say is a different story as Na-Na's house is not child proof. I don't worry about any part of the house but the kitchen.

Take care, Beth and Cisco. (He is hiding at the moment lol.)

What a cute little guy... it looks like he's trying to read that box and now you say he's trying to eat it - LOL - thanks for sharing as we do not have squirrels here

What great photos of that squirrel. He is so cute.
I have the same thing here sometimes. One day is filled with all kind of things, like telephonecalls, making appointments, going to appointments, etc.etc and other days are all quiet. funny thing.
We will have two days of very high temperatures now. I pity a bit the people who walk the 4 days of Nijmegen here in Holland. They will have difficult days.
It's a walking event, where people can walk distances from 10-50 km a day.
This year is the 100th time it takes place.
You take care with the warmth, try to stay cool and take a lot of naps.
Hug
Kyra
