Saving Your Memories

June 13, 2016

Good morning.  It's looking like another gorgeous sunny day here in my little part of New England.  Our weather for this week and next is rather a perfect way to transition from Spring to Summer.

Today I want to share something that I read in the AARP magazine about more ways to be prepare for a disaster.  Transfer your personal photos and videos to a flash drive and attach the drive to your home keys.  You can save thousands of photos and many videos to a 64 GB drive, which costs under $20.  Next to your family, your precious memories are what you least want to lose in a disaster.

Yesterday, I transferred all my photos and videos from my cell phone over to my flash drive.  I've started taking some of them off the phone, and today I will delete a lot more of them from the phone.   You might want to be careful of what you take photos of with your phone.  Google seems to have a knack for going into your phone and publishing all your photos on Facebook.  This is not quite fair and I'm not really happy about it.  Google does not respect anyone's privacy.

There are so many buds opening on the light pink peony plant, that I went outside and picked one of the buds and brought it in for all to share.  In this photo, I'm holding the partially opened bud in my hand.  Imagine how big this will be when it is fully opened!

The Mint Julep rose bush will be blossoming soon.  It has tiny light yellow buds on it.

Our little birdies have been quite hungry lately, and we fill up the feeders twice a day now.  One little fellow who seems to really love the new feeder is a resident chipmunk.  He checks it out several times a day to make sure he got all the food.  Dwarf Helen took this photo from the kitchen window.

I managed to get a couple loads of laundry done yesterday afternoon, and while waiting for the clothes to wash, I tried to delete a large pile of junk mail.  I must say that I eradicated most of it.  However, I'll have to do a bit more work on it today.

SIL Eddie and his friend Cliff are on the way here to start working on the upstairs bathroom.  The floor needs a bit of work, and then they will replace all of the floor tiles.  I think maybe it's time for me to get dressed before the guys get here.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a beautiful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,

Your peony is just marvelous. I can just imagine how beautiful it is in reality. Wow, what a stunner and that mint julep rose is going to be gorgeous. Thank you for sharing with us.

Well the weekend is over and back to the week we go. I have doctor's appointments on the 15th, 16th and the 20th. One of them is rather serious as it is to measure the blood flow into my legs and feet. This will be the test that tells if the stents worked. Please wish me a good report.

Something is in the air. I can't stop sneezing this morning. I haven't kept up with news to see what is blowing in the air this past week. I did watch a report on La Nina. While it will be flooding in other parts of the world, we can expect droughts and fewer Hurricanes. From one extreme to the next.

Your little chipmunk is just too cute. He knows where his bread is buttered lol. I seen your picture of him in the feeder and remembered a year that we went camping and one found his way into our camper. He didn't enjoy the trip back home. I opened the door and out he scampered.

You have a wonderful day and congratulations on getting the upstairs bathroom repaired. Love, Beth and Cisco.

It is a really HUGE peanie. Astonishing, but how beautiful.
Privacy on internet isn;t really there, that is scaring me by times, but there isn;t all too much we can do about it and nowadays we need internet, not as much as eveybody thinks, but is is handy.
The little chipmunk is adorable.
Good luck to Eddie and his mate, that the repair on the barthroomfloor will go smoothly.
Perhaps I will go into towncentre later today, I can find there some birdfeed for cheaper price and may be I find something nice in some slaes.
Have a lovely day,
Hug
Kyra

Hi Edna, I was really behind in reading your blog....sorry. Loved the photo that your chipmunk fits in the plate portion of Gene's bird feeder! Never gave it a thought when we built it. I wanted metal verses glass so it wouldn't break in shipping and antiques red, white and blue because we know how patriotic you are. Your flowers are just gorgeous. Please take a photo of the yards so we can get an idea of the volume you have and where they are planted. I wish we would be able to get together again but I feel my traveling days are over. Plan to go biking this afternoon as it has been raining or strong winds for the past 2 weeks. Call soon. Mary Ann
