Only A Week Of Spring Left

June 12, 2016

Good morning.  It's a beautiful sunny, breezy day, but we my have a few clouds and a drop or two of precipitation  This whole upcoming week is supposed to be in the 70's.  Next week, the 80's are supposed to move in along with the start of summer.  Can you believe it?  Spring is almost over.

It's been quiet around here, and we finally got some of that rain that has been coming our way all week.  The weather man says that we are officially in drought.  SIL Eddie came by to put the new supports around my peony plants.  Hopefully, this will help the blooms to last a bit longer.  Usually, they are so heavy that they fall down to the ground.

Here are photos of buds that are opening.  As you can see, they are as big as saucers.  The dark rose colored bud is about three inches across.  You an imagine how big they will be when they are opened all the way.

I also took a photo of one of the iris plants so that you could see how tall they grow.  The fence in the background is six feet tall.

In the afternoon, I did a bit of grocery shopping, and picked up a few more pretty things for my daughter Laura Jean.  This week I need to mail off some boxes.  Clothes for Laura Jean, and birthday gifts for my son Gary Jr.   According to my emails (order recipts), it seems that Pogo has been doing a bit of shopping too.   He's a good doggie, my little Pogo.

By evening, I was really tired and fell asleep shortly after our supper.  Today is looking to be a rather quiet day.  It's nice out, so I think I'll take Pogo out for a walk around the yard for a while.  We'll probably both need naps after that.  haha.

Well, that's my news for today.  So, till tomorrow. Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,

I received the images of your gorgeous flowers and downloaded them on my phone last night. Oh my... Breathtaking such beautiful colors. You must send me just a pinch of that green thumb of yours.

I cannot believe that spring is already almost over for you. We have been out of spring for awhile here with temps climbing higher every day. It is 82 here with 76% humidity and our high will be 98. I was out doors with my son Jonathan a little while ago and it was nice out for a change. Not too sticky.

Tell Pogo that Cisco was dreaming last night and his legs and tail were going everywhere. I am sure that he was at your place playing with Pogo!

I guess I will run over to my blog and see what I can do over there. Then it is time to clean my room and bathroom. I have 3 doctors appointments this week so I don't want to have to come home from them and clean. Hugs and Kisses from Cisco to you and Pogo. xx Beth

I didn't realize spring was almost over until you just mentioned it. Where does the time go?

Your flowers are so beautiful. I have never seen irises that tall. Mine are about 24 inches at most. And the peonies...! My goodness they are just lovely!

Hope you have a good weekend.

Your flowers are so lovely. We have rabbits and they have eaten everything we planted. They burrowed under the front porch but we will smoke them out and seal that deck so they won't get in there again. I have a few Colorado Columbine plants under a big tree in the backyard. I hope those rabbits won't go in my backyard. Argh...
I appreciate your visits at my blog. I am way behind catching up with everyone. My problem is I go to a blog and comment at all the posts I have not seen. Takes time but I enjoy it so I do not get as many blog visits that way
We have had a big heat wave so I hope it cools down. We have had some rain tonight and last night too.
Grateful for the cool evenings.
Have a great week! Hugs, Anne!

Huge, those peonies! Such beautiful flowers.
ope the plant supports will do their work and let you have some longer enjoyment of he peonies.
On and off here with rain. On moments it is dry and the sun can peep through the clouds it is just lovely weather. It is supposed to be that kind of weather all week, but I would like to have a bit higher temperatures. May be by the end of the week it will change again.
did some gardening yesterday, replanted a few tomatoe plants in bigger pots. I hope they will start to bloom soon now, so that we will have a bunch of tomatoes later!
If there is a dry moment today, perhaps I will go out for a little grocerie shopping.
You have a lovely day.
Hug
