Not Quite So Gimpy Today

June 6, 2016

Good morning.  It's sunny and 70F degrees right now.  Temps are supposed to hit the mid 80's by noon time.  You know darn right well I'm going to be looking for new blossoms in my garden later this morning.  Yesterday, it rained and watered all the plants and lawns really good.  Today's warmth will encourage lots of new blooms.

Well, I'm not gimping so bad now.  Dwarf Helen brought me some Epsom Salt yesterday, and I soaked my sore fat foot.  Oh my, it made my foot feel so much better.  Last evening, I soaked it again with the Epsom Salt and was able to get some comfortable sleep during the night.

It brought down a little of the swelling and a lot of the pain.  I'm not quite so gimpy now.  (or grumpy!)  However, I will call my doctor this morning to get an appointment.  Meanwhile, I'll keep up the foot soaks.

Today I have more photos from my yard.  This first one shows the front portion of the yard on the other side of the house.  It used to be all overgrown shrubbery.  Now it's this way all the way to the back end of the house.

The back of the house is still quite forest-like, (providing homes for some wildlife and birds) with lots of Sweet William growing there.  Here's a view from the driveway side of the house.

And here are a few more of the pretty posies that grow in our gardens.

Yesterday, grandson Kevin and his sweetie Janicee came by.  We had a lovely visit and chatted about everything including jobs and college.  Janice would like to study pediatric oncology.  When Kevin finishes with college, he wants to enlist with Uncle Sam, and then on to working with either the State Police or the FBI.  Wowsie!!

When I was a little girl, my Daddy always told me to "Reach for the moon Honey.  You're bound to land on a few stars on your way there."   It looks like my kids are doing just that!!  God bless and guide them along the way.

It's time now for me to get busy here.  First I have a phone call to make, then I have dishes in the sink waiting to be washed.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a beautiful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,

It was great that the Epsom Salt bath helped your foot. I was actually reading an article that said Epsom Salts had a lot of magnesium in it and it helps to absorb the magnesium that we lose on a daily basis. Still glad that you will try and see a doctor soon.

Wonderful temps for you today. Today should be pleasant for us as well. We are at 75 and 55% humidity. and we are not even getting into the 80's today. Our high is 78. I am impressed as it was a scorcher out yesterday. I think that I will sit outside today for a bit and look at the beautiful roses that are coming back bountiful.

It is wonderful you had a visit from Kevin and his girlfriend. What a sweet visit that was. Your dad's saying reaching for the moon and landing on a star along the way was just beautiful.

Your flowers and garden are really nice and I love the wooded area! Love it. I love all of the photos that you share.

I am going to close for now and have some coffee and I have dishes to do today as well. Have a great day and talk soon. Hugs, Beth

Your garden looks wonderful, and I really love the wooded area. And yes, that is encouraging wildlife, which is so important.
That;s why there is a campaign every now and then to encourage people to have some greenery and flowers in their gardens and not only stones. People have often so little time these days and don;t want to be bothered with also work in a garden, but if you plant it wisely, there isn;t really much work to it.
Glad the footbath helped you to have some decent sleep and less pain. Still good idea to visit a doctor.
What a lovely surprise for you to have that visit from Kevin and Janice. Oh, that youth have so many dreams and plans, which is a good thing. And I do really hope they can achive some of them.
Now time for me to make a little post on my blog and them get something done .
Have a wonderful day
Hug

Your garden is lovely. I love a wooden fence for a backdrop to the flowers. Good to hear the foot is feeling better as well.
