It's Time To Dig Out My Big Girl Panties

June 26, 2016

Good morning.  I opened my door a little while ago, and oh my it is simply gorgeous outside.  Joe filled the bird feeder a little while ago, and there are lots of little birds enjoying their feast.  What a great way to start the day.

There's not much happening around here this weekend.  Folks are just sitting back and enjoying the nice weather.  Today though, Pogo and I are planning to pick up Aunt Lucy and go shopping.  After that, we'll have lunch at the park and watch the water birds.  It all depends on how Aunt Lucy is feeling.  All her bumps and bruises from the car accident are quite achy.

Today will be a first for me.  I have a "thing" about driving to Boston.  I don't like it, and I haven't done it for nearly forty years.  I only go if someone else will do the driving.  Well, today I have to do it by myself.  It's the only way I'm going to be able to see my Aunt.  I've dug out my big girl panties, and I hope they still fit!

All my beautiful irises have gone by, but soon the Japanese Irises will be blooming.  Here's a photo of one of the yellow irises that were so pretty in the little garden by the kitchen windows.  These were of the normal size and height.

While shopping at Walmart this past Friday, I found this new little gadget.  It's a "Selfie Wireless Shutter Button."   Sometimes I have to get very creative trying to take photos of Pogo, so I thought I would give this a try.  Hmmm, we'll see.

This morning I've been watching old re-runs of Law and Order.  It's amazing how many episodes I either did not see or have forgotten.  I'm just thankful that they are still being run because I enjoy this program.  (and all the re-runs)

Well, now I think it's time to call Aunt Lucy to make sure she is up to going out today.  Then Pogo and I will get ready to head out.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,

Have lots of fun with your Aunt Lucy shopping and lunch in the park. I hope that the trip goes well. I understand why you want someone else to do the driving. I admire your spirit.
It is really sad that the iris's have had their time here to beautify the soul, but they will not be forgotten.
No big plans here today. I am making a scrap page for a friends birthday and that is really about it. You have a wonderful day and lots of hugs and kisses to Pogo and hugs from me. Beth

Nowadays it isn;t great fun to drive in all that traffic, I guess(i don;t drive myself, never did). But good for you that you will give it a try again.
Hope Aunt lucy will be able to spend some time with you, that she hasn;t too much trouble for aching bruises and such.
Would be nice, to have lunch in the park together, wouldn;t it?
Not too much to do here either, weather is holding back a bit, we have temps of about 17 C now, which isn;t too great. Bit cloudy, sometimes bit rain, little too much wind, no, not the best summerweather.
Yesterday it was a whee bit better, though, so I could sit for a moment in the garden.
Today Jan will hear the result of the last MRI scan, hope it is a good one.
Have a wonderful day,
Hug
