I Think The Foot Is Going To Make It!!

June 7, 2016

Good morning.  The sun is shining brightly, there's a lovely breeze, and today's temps will be in the 80's.  However, the rest of week will be in the 70's.  Oh my, that will feel so good!

Well, I did call and make an appointment with my doctor for this Thursday morning.  And I'm soaking my foot a couple times a day.  I'm happy to say that most of the swelling has gone down, there's hardly any pain and I can walk without hobbling or limping.  Yeah!

SIL Eddie came by yesterday to work on some electrical for me.  While he was here, we walked around the house to the garden where all the huge irises are.  Eddie brought along some tall sticks to tie up the irises that had fallen over.  They are so tall (around 4 feet tall) and the blooms are so huge and heavy that they have trouble standing up without sticks.

I really should have put these props in the ground before the plants got so big.  I'll have to keep that in mind for next year.  Sad to say, something had crawled through the garden and broken the stem to the orange iris plant.  I brought it indoors and put it in water.  Unfortunately, these flowers don't last long once they are cut.

Remember the photo of the big black iris bud that I posted before?  Well here it is opening.  As you can see, it is really a very dark purple.  I put my hand in the photo to show how huge these blooms are.

Next to blossom will be the peonies.  The buds are getting really big now.  Some of the flowers get as big as salad plates.   We'll be needing to put a few sticks around this plant too so that the flowers won't all fall to the ground.

I took some time to play a bit in Photoshop with one of the photos.  This is the piece I liked best.  It has potential to become a very interesting bit of digital art.  Can you recognize it?

Well, now my little birdies are chirping away outside my door.  They're telling me that the feeder is empty and could they please have some peanuts too.  So that's where I'm off to now.  Can't disappoint these little birdies.  They give us so much pleasure.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oh My Edna,

Falling in love more each day with all of the pretty flowers you have. I am sure that they give you great joy as well as the little birds do as well. Gosh how very pretty. I just am not sure what words I can use to describe the Iris's and now it looks like the Peony's are going to be show stoppers as well.
Oh by the way I tagged you in Facebook with a picture of a Flying Duck Orchid. It is just gorgeous.

My morning started off well and Cisco has been getting a treat with his breakfast every morning. Cisco is on the Science Diet and has been for years. It is pricy but he is worth it. He has had the dry food. Well now they make the same kind of food wet too, so he gets a nice tablespoon mixed in with his regular food. That little tail just wags as he chows down and he will look up at me, yes I stay with him while he eats. I don't like to eat alone and Cisco enjoys my company, so he looks up at me and I swear he smiles. He is napping right now.

So glad to hear that your foot is feeling much better. Sometimes things just get better on their own, but you know something had to cause it in the first place so I am glad to hear that your seeing a doctor.

Time to do a few things. I really need to do a load of laundry. It could actually wait but it will give me something to do. You have a wonderful day. xx Beth and Cisco.

Happy that the foot is giving you much less trouble again.
That dark iris looks fantastic. There are some "ingeneous"planthelps that you almost don;t see. they are round and in the middle you just put a stick to uphold the circle, can be positioned at any hieght and the plant will be fine. specially would be good for the peoany.
Here a link so you can see what I mean

Now i have to go to the orthodontist nearby our home to let my teeth fixed. yesterday suddenly one fell out of my protheses, not fun.
I think I will need a new one, but if possible I will wait till net year(costs an aweful lot of money)
Always some surprises happen that you don;t need!
Oh well, we'll have to live with that.
Have a wonderful day.
