Got Stinky Shoes?

June 17, 2016

Good morning.  It's a glorious day outside my door.  We have today and tomorrow, then Spring will be done.  It may have started out rather cool, but oh my it turned out to be really splendid.

The Lawn Doctor guy was here early this morning to spray for ticks and mosquitos.  After he left, I went outside to take a few photos of the plants on my steps.  The first two photos are petunias, and the last photo is my mosquito plant (Citron).  I never realized that it had tiny purple flowers.

Yesterday, I got to mail off one of my boxes on the way to Walmart.  Then I picked up my meds and did a bit of grocery shopping.  I also picked up some colored pencils and an adult coloring book for a friend who is a bit down in the dumps.  Coloring always seems to calm one's nerves.

Today will be quiet.  I'm giving my back and legs a lot of rest because tonight I'm going out with Deanne and Eddie.  We are going to watch Jazzy perform in Sweet Indulgence (a tantalizing adult cabaret).  Here's a photo of the entire cast, with Jazzy sitting next to the director (on the floor in front).

Today, I'll leave you with a tip on how to stop shoe odor.  Tea bags absorb moisture and stink.  First, wipe the inside of each shoe or sneaker with a cotton ball moistened with rubbing alcohol to kill bacteria.  Next, place a dry, unused tea bag in each shoe, and let them sit overnight.  (info is thanks to AARP magazine)

Well, that's my news for today.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a magnificent weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,

First I want to Congratulate Jazzy and her new play. I am so happy that your going to be able to attend. I bet that it will be just wonderful..

Your petunias are just delightful. And I love the mosquito plant. Another great plant for repelling mosquitos is Lemon Balm and Lemon Grass. I am glad that you had such success last year with your lawn man spraying for you.

I am so very sore this morning from my fall yesterday. This morning the scratch is not looking near as bad as it did yesterday, but upon closer inspection I realized that I was a very lucky lady yesterday. If I had been slightly turned just another inch I would have probably at the least have cracked a rib. My hip and shoulder are very sore and tender but the good news is that I don't see any visible bruising which surprises me with how hard I hit.

Jonathan said last night that we are going to really have to find an apartment that is handicapped accessible. He took notice of the fact that if we stay here and I ever need a wheel chair, it would not fit thru the doors and he wants to go to the office and talk to them about installing some safety bars in my bathroom for me to hold on to while getting in and out of the tub.

This post is a little longer than I intended so I will say good bye for now and hope that your day and evening are wonderful. Lots of love from Cisco and I to you and Pogo. Beth

I could have used that smelly shoe fix when my son was younger and playing football. I wouldn't care un-smell my shoes, George would be crushed. He loves stinky shoes...not sure why, but he will stick his head right in there. Must be a guy thing.

I bet you had a great time watching Jazzy in her performance!
Oh, it happens to me too, being cranky at times LOL.
I understand your comment on a lot of nowadays programs, being so stupid(and it should be funny, they say) and the quality of several of them. Here we had some fun programs, shows, that became less and less good, so we gave up on some of them
Your flowers are loevely.
I love those little petunias.
Good tip about the stinky shoes, hahaha.
Sorry ou didn;t sleep all to well, because of the pain. But perhaps a small glass of beer will help indeed to relax and fall asleep.
Going to post now on my blog, so I leave you till next time.
Have a wonderful weekend.
