April Is Quietly Slipping By

April 29, 2016

Good morning.  The sun peeks in and out, and the temperature is 46F degrees.  Later today it will get up to the mid 50's.  It's a good day to get out and do errands.  At least that's what Pogo and I have planned.

I guess I'm just not a very good cake baker.  Pogo was not very impressed with the cake that I made.  Needless to say, he did not eat any of it.  I'll offer it to him again today, but I don't think things will change.  Sad to say, the cake did not look or smell like a juicy hamburger or a steak.  Hmmm, there's a lesson here for me to learn for next year.

However, my little guy had a really nice day, and would like to thank everyone for the birthday wishes.   Here's a Birthday scrap page that our friend Beth made for him.  We love it Beth.  Thank you so much.

Yesterday, the Lawn Doctor came to spray the trees and yard for ticks.  By the next visit, they will be spraying for mosquitos too.  I'm looking forward to being able to enjoy my yard without getting bit by insects.

Have you noticed how quickly this month has flown by?  In two days, it will be Mother's Day.  It just seems to be too early for May to arrive.  Ah well, I guess Mother Nature doesn't think so.  My tiny lilac bush might even bloom.  I noticed teeny little buds on it a few days ago.

I need to go shrub shopping soon.  We used to have beautiful tall, thick hedges along the whole front of the yard.  Over the years the hedges have become seedy, and a lot of them have been broken down.  Every year I want to replace them, but I just never seem to get it done.  This year I have this project at the top of my "house to do" list.

On a happy note, daughter Audrey sent me a couple new photos of her granddaughter, Alena.  Here, she is showing how beautiful she is in her Auntie Bea's cowgirl hat.

In this photo, she is practicing making her letters.  And she's only three years old!  We're all very proud of her.

Well, the morning is quickly flying by and I really should get busy and chase a few bunnies.  After the mail comes, Pogo and I want to go out for a little while.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

So Pogo is not only a year older, but a year wiser ... not eating cake is probably a good thing, though on his birthday I think he could make an exception. Sorry we missed the actual day, but we are full of good wishes for our friend Pogo today. Izzi is very unhappy with me that I made her miss out on Peanut Butter Cake and on celebrating with Pogo.

We are very busy here. My daughter has started back in Physical Therapy again ... going twice a week and then doing exercises here at home. My friend finally sold her house so I have been going with her to find a new house to move in to. She found one and is making a bid, but now someone else is bidding on it too, so we are all holding our breath, hoping her contract is excepted.
FH and I had our annual physicals Tuesday. The doctor says I am good for at least another 10 years ... hope he is right, but not putting any limits on this old life yet ... Still have a rather long bucket list to get through.
Monday was beautiful so I spent time working in the yard and gardens. Mint has been a great help and has cleared several of my gardens and raked my hill(that's a biggie, cause I can't do it myself anymore). It has been cold the rest of this week, I mean really cold, in the thirties, ugh! My flowers seem to be tolerating it better than I am. I get chilled to the bone (probably because of the wind off of the lake)when I go out. Izzi, of course, is loving it. She gets really lazy about walking when it is warm, but is raring to go when the temperature drops. She is doing okay, but still a long way from good. It is probably a given that she is through with agility, but I am hoping she will be able to play outside on some basis ... she really misses her Frisbee :( Well, speaking of outside, I need to take her out for a potty walk and some exercise. You have a wonderful day, and again, Happy Belated Birthday to Pogo.

Edna,

Love the pictures, and that cowboy hat makes her look awesome! 3 years old? Wow... she looks much older. It must be the hat!

I am sorry Pogo didn't eat any of his cake. Cisco will not have a problem with that at all. As a matter of fact he will have to share with Foxy so he does not make a Piggy out of himself.

Karyn just left, she came over and made dinner. It was really good and we enjoyed it tremendously. I wish that she would let me do something for her. But she is so stubborn about things like that.

I had a very long day. And one in the morning too as we are going to go grocery shopping. It really has to be done as Karyn's schedule is filled the entire month of May. Her manager is out of the office in training and then leaving on a 2 week vacation to the Dominican Republic, so that leaves Karyn working on the floor alone for the entire month. She got her 10 year certificate yesterday. She actually got it in March but they had to have it printed and so she ended up with it yesterday.

Going to close for now and get ready for some nice sleep. I am super tired tonight. Hugs! Kisses to Pogo from me and a woof and lick from Cisco and many hugs to you too... xx Beth and Cisco.

Perhaps Pogo was wise not to taste any of the cake(and perhaps hoping for a juicy hanburger?).
Never mind, you had all a great day.
Lovely little girl and already trying to write the letters, just being 3 years old? You all should be proud. Never too young too learn, here's the proof.
Try to write a little post now on my blog,
Have a wonderful day, stya safe and warm.
