Today Is Beautiful. Sunny, Windy And Warm.

February 25, 2014

Good afternoon.  SIL Eddie and I just got back from my brother in law Mel's funeral service a little while ago.  It's a beautiful day, sunny, windy and warm, around 60F degrees.  The service was just beautiful.  Near the end, the Rabbi sang the 23rd Psalm, first in Hebrew, then in English.  It brought tears to my eyes.  I've never heard it sung so beautifully.

Yesterday morning, Pogo and I kept our appointment with the tax accountant.  Oh my, I was a bundle of nerves.  But somehow all went well.  I only forgot to bring one paper with me, so I will drop that by either later today or tomorrow.  I feel better now that is out of the way.

Last night, there wasn't much sleep coming my way.  It was raining, with thunder and lightning, and the wind was howling up a storm all night long.  The trees were swaying and bending, and branches were coming down all over the place.  All small branches, thank you.  Today we have a heavy wind warning until around 7 p.m. tonight.

Pogo does not like the loud thunder and lightning.  So he was snuggled up against me all night long.  Somehow, I managed to doze off every now and then for a little while.  I think tonight I'll sleep very well.

I have a really cute cartoon to share that I borrowed from the web.  It's a rather nice way to get a message across to folks.

I found another picture on the web (and borrowed it too) that I thought I would share.  It's another way to plant a garden, using planter boxes and a trellis.  Actually, I rather like it, and I might try it this year.

Now I'm going to see what's for lunch.  Or maybe I'll just cook us an early supper.  Hmmm, it all depends on what I find in the fridge.  On that note, I'll take my leave.  So, till tomorrow, be safe and Y'all have a beautiful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Glad your day turned out for the better. We are back having colder, but sunny days again. Be so happy when it settles down to one thing. Warm weather.

Good the service went well and that you were with Eddie.
and see, I told you, the tax stuff would go allright and so it did. Okay, just one little paper forgotten, but that you can settle easily.
Gosh, that must feel really like a stone fell of your heart, and I know that feels wonderful!!!
Looks nice, the new way of planting a garden. I wouldn;t do it for everything but for some things it is a great way to keep control to overgrow and such.
Sorry for the thunder and lightning and stormy winds, especially when they prevent you to sleep. But hopefully this night sleep will cover you as a warm blanket, LOL.
Have a wonderful day.

I can almost hear the cantor singing - why is it that almost anything sung in Hebrew is so beautifully haunting?

I adore the concept of the planter boxes and trellis forming an arch. You can plant beans and it would be so easy to pick. I'd mix in some annual flowering vines as well just to pretty it up. So many ideas from one photo.

Aw...poor Pogo and you too with the wind and rain! Many people love those thunder shirts for their pets. They say they seem to alleviate some of the stress. Poor pooches. You two have a good weekend. I am sorry for the loss of your brother-in-law, it is always hard to lose those we love. I am glad the service was so beautiful. I like those planters you shared here too. Somethings to think about with Spring nearby.
