Oh My, A Heat Wave!! Woo Hoo!!

February 15, 2016

Good morning.  Well, we're up to 13F degrees now.  The weather man says we may even make it to 29 or 30 degrees later today.  Woo Hoo!!  A regular heat wave!!  Tomorrow is the day we're supposed to see temps in the 50's.  That's when Pogo and I will break out of here and do as many errands as we can while it is warm out.

Today I'll make up my shopping list for this week's groceries, and a list of groceries for daughter Audrey to pick up when she gets to Florida.  She usually gets there ahead of us,  and picks up a few things to tide us over till the next day when we can go shopping together.

Oh gosh, just think.  In two weeks, Pogo and I will be sitting on our little screened in porch, enjoying the sunshine and warmth.  I'll be enjoying my coffee, and Pogo will be snoozing in the sun.  Oh wow, just thinking about it is fun!!

Did you all figure out the answer to yesterday's picture puzzle?  If not, here's the answer.  This is the lower left corner of the image.  I've put in an arrow pointing to the odd pie.

Last night, I finally gave in and washed the dishes in the sink.  I didn't want to, but I couldn't rest easy knowing that they needed to be washed.  You have to understand, standing on the kitchen floor is like standing on frozen ice.  It's c-o-l-d!!  Even with thick slipper socks!  But I did it.

For supper tonight, I'm going to cook my little guy a tasty juicy steak because he has been so good through all this wicked cold.  Except for using his potty patch or getting up to bark at people (when necessary), he's been on my lap, covered with his fuzzy blankets.  We kept each other toasty warm.

Granddaughter Randi sent me a Valentine photo of the kids yesterday.  Here's Lilah, Ali and Jack.  Have I mentioned how blessed I am?

Every now and then, I pick up the Medium Rose afghan and put on a few more rows.  I think I need about three more rows and I'll be at the half way mark.  I've only been doing a row or two at a time because my hands would get cold.  I can already feel the difference in the temperature in here because my hands have not got cold while I've been typing here.  That's a good sign!

I borrowed a photo from the web of a beautiful black fox.  I never saw one of these before.  This fellow is simply gorgeous!!!

Well, that's all my news for this morning.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay warm and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Isn't this cold awful? But it is warming up this week and hopefully this is the last of it for this season. My house is cold too. Old houses always are. Lucky you to get to go to Florida. Your grands are really cute!

Never a dull moment around your place so it seems. I am so thankful we do not get cold weather like that. I would just have to sit by the fire all the time.I can see why you are eager to go on vacation.

Hi, I just found your blog and have bookmarked it so I can keep up to date with you and Pogo.

Don't worry too much about dust bunnies or dishes, they will always be there when you are ready to attack them. Stay warm until you can get to Florida and the sun!

Here we have also problem with cold. perhaps the house feels even a bit colder because of all the working that is done in appartment upstairs, so may be they don't heat, or not very much. Then we have old windows that let trhough some wind and cold temperatures. So when it is freezig I sit with my fleece blanket on the couch too. Oh well, as long as a fleece blanket can keep we warm on the couch, I shouldn;t be complaining all too much, is it?
Happy birthday to Janice, (belated).
I hope you will have the warmer day today, so you can pop out with Pogo for a moment to do your shopping.
Have a warm day, may it be in temperatures or otherwise under fleece blankets!
