I'm Back!

January 14, 2016

Good morning.  It's almost 5 a.m. and I've been up for a couple of hours.  I took sick a couple of nights ago and spent all day yesterday in bed.  I'm not sure what the problem was but my stomach was not feeling so good, I was running small fevers and I was woozy on my feet.

Last evening, I started feeling a bit better.  Gosh, there sure are a lot of strange bugs going around.  I'm hoping this is the last one for a long time.  It is so depressing when you don't feel good.  Thank goodness for my Pogo.  He takes very good care of me.

Before I took sick, I had started a new afghan.  It's main color is Medium Rose, and it is quite lovely.  Together with the Artist Print yarn, it looks a bit old fashioned.  This will be for one of my granddaughters next Christmas.

Folks, my friend Nani has been admitted to a therapy facility for some much needed help with her MS.  Do stop by her blog (just click on her name) and leave her some wishes for a speedy return home.  She's a real sweetie and has such a dazzling smile.  I miss her chatter on her blog.  Nani Girl, get well and hurry home.

Today I have a Quick Page for you.   Gee, can you tell I'm wishing Spring would hurry up and arrive?   The real weather here is cold and gloomy, so maybe this will brighten your day a bit.

In the wee hours, around 1 .am., I was watching a crime show on TV when the cable went out.  The sign on the TV screen said "Please be patient, we'll be back in a moment."   Hmmm, I wonder why they say they'll be back in a moment when in reality the cable did not come back on for two hours?

Meanwhile, I put the night light on (for Pogo) and decided to go back to sleep.  Unfortunately, the night light lit up the whole room making it impossible to fall asleep.   Some times you just cannot win!   So I read a book for a while on my tablet, and put a couple more rows on the afghan before I decided to do a bit of catching up on my laptop.

Now I'm getting tired so I think I'll try to catch a few winks.  So till tomorrow, Y'all be warm and have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oh my I love the yarn colors ... especially the artist print. I would be temped to take up my knitting needles for a color like that :) So sorry you weren't feeling well. Sounds like maybe something you ate didn't sit well with you. Good that you are feeling better, but, I must say, that your sleeping habits (or lack there of) make you more vulnerable to what ever little germs are hanging out there. I know I have suggested Melatonin to you before ... did you ever try it? My son used it on his 20 hour flight to Thailand and he was able to sleep on the plane. Good rest is a big part of your health, especially at our age.

Pogo, Pogo ... he is a picky eater, but what I call it is, a man of good taste. Steak, hamberger etc. He knows what he likes. I give Izzi a fish oil capsule every day and she doesn't seem to have dry skin even in the dry air of winter. Maybe he would eat one of those. Izzi chews it so she can taste the oil. Give it a try :)

I am already scrambling to get organized for my trip. I not only have to get myself ready, but I have to prepare FH and my daughter and all the animals for my absence. I think of things that need to be done while I am out and about and then forget what they were by the time I get home ... so I am starting lists. There are a lot of things I have to remember when you go out of the country. My son is a big help and if I forget anything, he seems to think I will be able to get it there ... so I am counting on it. I am going with my friend that I always travel with and her daughter and her friend are joining us. They are going to spend a week at an Elephant Sanctuary ... something I would have loved to do when I was young like them, but stompping around in elephant dung at my age is not a turn on, Ha! We are all going to the wedding together and we are wearing Lisu dress (Mint is from a Lisu village ... a group of migrant Chinese) It will be fun and I will be taking pictures every step of the way. My biggest worry is the time change ... we basically lose a whole day because we cross the dateline. That means I will be functioning on little sleep most of the time I am there ... Ugh! Anyway, here's hoping this old poop can make it through. It will be exciting :) Hoping to see and photograph many birds that I have never seen. My son says they are there and they are noisy, Ha ... the difference in our perception of birds:) Well better get going. Hope you can get rested up and feeling better ... love to Pogo from Izzi :)

Hi Edna, your craftiness is wonderful! Love it! Love the colors too. Bandit born April 29th. Jeremy and Brittany getting hitched on April 30, same date as my niece Karla and her hubby Aaron. Also my big silly kitty's birthday! I am warming my feet with a heating pad. We cleaned our closet recently and found 3 heating pads! LOL! Warm and windy outside but I feel that snow coming in my bones! Our electric blanket went out, only on my side! Thank goodness for Amazon Prime, no shipping and a five year warranty! Woo Hoo! It will be here tomorrow and I will be setting it up because my honey is working late tonight, tomorrow and possibly Saturday! They are moving offices and he always volunteers. The extra money helps A L O T ! Plus once the movers get the furniture in each new attorney office the helpers like my sweet Avery have to make sure all the paperwork and files etc. are in the correct offices. With 200 attorneys this move is a long process. My hubby's floor is done in Bronco orange! LOL! One floor is lime green! Those are the only floors I have seen so far. He texted me that there is a taco bar for the helpers! He always gets great food and it is FREE! Rebekah and I ran an errand, to get her new script for contacts! Aack! I dislike that new office and the people who took over! C L U E L E S S ! They "accidentally" did not see that she needs an eye exam before they can get the new script. Argh.....so we went to breakfast at Perkins. My eyes were bigger than my stomach! But it was delish so I have leftover pancakes for later. My girl is too funny, owns one pair of vintage jeans, mildly stating that! We took them to an alternation place and they will fix them for $8! She is so silly, but I love her anyway! I tried to buy her a pair of gently used jeans on ebay but she said the fit isn't as good as her original pair. I learned long ago, when you find something you L O V E buy in multiples! I have a specific brand of jeans, Lee Relaxed fit that I really love. So I buy them three pairs at a time. In case they discontinue which is so often with stuff we like! I bought an extra dog bed for Bandito since he is here so often and came come and found Mr. Kitty parked in it! AN hour later, Rose the cat took her turn. But Mr. Bandito is a smart one, he curled up in my soft blanket throw and is resting comfortably near my cold feet! Feel better soon and give kisses to Pogo too! I heard the flu is not developing the way they usually see it! But I know lots of folks that had experienced it already. I am a sinus trouble girl. UGH! Drink something warm and curl up with a book or your crafty fingers you use so beautifully. Take care. Hugs, Anne

Sorry you weren;t feeling well! Hey girl, let that be the last of it for a long time, do you hear!
A good deal of getting better lies into a good sleep. It sounds as if you don't catch enough. Perhaps talk about it with your doctor?
But glad to hear you are feeling already a bit better.
Stay warm and try to take as much winks as you can get.
I will leave a message for Nani, sorry she isn't feeling good.
Have a lovely day, get rid of that bug and sleep a lot!!!
Hug
Kyra

Hello my friend...so glad you are feeling better, sorry the "bugs" keep finding their way to you, hopefully, no more will be coming! Thanks for the lovely QP! I appreciate each and every one of them! Your new project looks terrific, love the colors! Sure do enjoy your daily e-mail reads...thanks for sharing! Today is the start of the yo-yo weather again...we have been blessed last couple of days with upper 60's, today dropping a good 15 degrees, then tomorrow drops another 15 degrees with winds from the northwest and rain/snow mix...then back to 50 on Sunday and back to 40 on Monday and back to 60 by Tuesday....our fat stock show and rodeo opened today so the weather will be very yo-yo until it is over in February! I should start to work at the tax office on Monday so will be busy until April 15th during the week now. Sure will miss my fur babies...but will be able to pay taxes and insurance at the end of the year....LOL! I think I will visit Nani's site now and leave a few words for her, you and Pogo have a fantastic weekend creating lots of memories to share next week! Hugs, Mat
