Early To Bed, Early To Rise, The New Me!

November 27, 2015

Good morning.  Gosh, it feels like I've been up a whole day already.  Last evening I put out the lights really early, and Pogo and I fell right to sleep..  I woke up around 3 a.m., and decided that it was a good time to work on the baby cocoon that I had started a while ago.  After it was finished, Pogo and I had our breakfast.

Next, I started making the little beanie cap that goes with the cocoon.  As soon as it is finished, I'll take a photo of the whole set.  One by one, all my projects are getting finished.  I think I'll start either a pink baby cocoon or a pink baby blanket next.  My hands don't feel right if they are not busy with some sort of craft in them.  Here's a photo of the finished baby blanket.

Well, let me tell you all that Joe cooked us a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner yesterday.  Everything came out great, even the turkey breast.  Needless to say, we were all stuffed after dinner.  I didn't even have room for dessert.

Pogo is making it very difficult for me to type, as he is climbing on and off my lap and nudging my arms.  He says he wants some attention and petting.  So be it.

I'm back.  My little guy just needed some "me" time.  So I picked up his brush, and brushed his beautiful curly coat.  He loves that.  After some cuddling, he's happy to lie here next to me while I type my post.

This morning I took another photo of my Christmas Cactus plant.  Every day there are new blossoms opening.  It's just gorgeous.

Yesterday morning, after I had posted here on my blog, I started doing a bit of catching up on my blog reading.  I only got to a couple of my favorite blogs when I heard a loud noise coming from outside, and then all the lights went out.

I woke Joe up so that he could go out to the shed and get the generator running so that we could plug in our refrigerators and the freezer.   Who knows how long it would be before the power was back on.  Then I called the electric company.  Because I have an oxygen concentrator, they came right out.  In less than two and a half hours, we had our power back on.  Yeahhhhh!!

All in all, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.  There's even enough food left over for all of us (Joe, Mike and me) to have supper tonight.  These two wonderful dwarfs paid for our dinner, so I will see if they would like to have Chinese take out tomorrow night, on me of course.

Now I think I'll see about getting a bit of my wrapping done (and maybe a bit of dusting)  before I settle down with some crocheting.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Good Morning my friend! So glad you has a fabulous Thanksgiving, we (furbabies & I) did too, we had a deep fried turkey with cornbread dressing, gravy, green beans, deviled eggs and caramel apple cake for dessert. I made everything but the turkey (a friend did that for me)! It was a pretty quiet day, I cooked (something I don't do too much of anymore) watched the Macy's parade, the Dog Show, a couple of football games and of course a nap too! I had a couple of visitors drop in around noon for a little chat, but mostly, just lazed the afternoon away as it rained and rained and rained! It was almost 80F yesterday, but today we will not be above the low 40's. Ice storms to the NW of us and rain all day today, tomorrow too with flooding all around. We broke all previous records for most rainfall in one year, so I was not surprised when I had to pick up trash in ankle deep water that turned over my trash cans this morning! I like to play in the puddles, but not when the water is sooooooo cold! Well, it is about time for some leftovers, so off for now, just wanted to say thanks for the QP and the e-mails. Love, love, love the baby blanket and the photo of Pogo on his stack of blankets. So happy baby Ali is home too...what a wonderful Thanksgiving for the family! Have a beautiful weekend! hugs, Mat

I'm so glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! we did too, but I was exhausted afterwards. Our Kobi, was spoiled also, she ate waaaay too much turkey, and refused her dinner. Everyone was giving her little treats, she tried not to eat her breakfast this morning, but i'm sorry thanksgiving is only once a year, for dogs too, so it's back to dog food for breakfast. LOL

Compliments to Joe there for his cooking then! He is a guy with some hidden secrets hey? Great there was more than enough left overs for the next day. it makes it so easy to have dinner and often it even tastes better than the 1st day.
Hmmmm, I don;t know if it is real good to go to bed early and rise early, think 3 p.m. is way too early to be up.
Oh what misery to loose power. still you are lucky the electric guys came quick and that it took not all too long. Good you have that generator to keep things going in case of powerloss.
Brodski is sitting net to me on the floor, hoping for a bit of attention. But he already had some, before i started on the computer, so he'll have to wait for the next cuddle-round LOL.
Have a lovely weekend,
Hug

Oh dear, I don't like to lose power. I think one of these days we should really invest in a generator. I have three refrigerators in the small freezer we would really be in trouble. You would think we wouldn't need so much but everyone buys their own groceries and we have so much of everything . Hopefully we will not go hungry. I just love the baby cocoon sent with that matching hat oh my goodness it is too precious. Your feast of food sounds delicious. I love a turkey breast . It is just a nice solid meal. I love coming over and catching up with you. Have a wonderful evening
