A Surprise In My Mail This Morning

November 18, 2015

Good morning.  It's another beautiful sunny day here in my little part of New England.  I must admit though, that the overnight temps were a bit nippy.  At 6:30 this morning, it was only 29F degrees.  It's gone up a few degrees now and should make it to the upper 40's later today.

Well, I guess I have developed a new habit of falling asleep early in the evening, and then staying awake for a few hours during the middle of the night.  In one way, it's not quite my cup of tea, but on the other hand, it's not so bad either.

Yesterday was another of those "what in the world did I do all day" days.  I do know that I was busy all day, but I'm not sure if I accomplished much of anything.  One of the things that I did was to browse (and browse and browse) through a new catalogue that came in the mail.  I also got caught up a bit on my blog reading and my emails.  During the night, I made another neck warmer.  Hmmm, I guess I did get a few things done.

My morning email brought me a wonderful surprise from my friend Kyra.  What a great way to start my day!!   This gorgeous scrap layout features my handsome Pogo, and features a new kit "The Silence Speaks," which hasn't been released yet.  Kyra, thank you so much.  I love it!!

Oh, I just thought of another thing that I did yesterday.  My little Christmas tree has had it's final season, and I've been looking around for a new one.  Yesterday I finally found one (online) the same size, maybe an inch or two taller, and I ordered it.  I like to put the tree up right after Thanksgiving, so this is perfect timing.

I did not have a chance to take a photo of the afghan, but I'll do that today.  (Obviously, it did not get wrapped either!)  I'll take a photo of the new neck warmer too.  I used another variegated yarn, and it is  really pretty.

Today I have another QP freebie for you.  This one features some really pretty shades of coral and maroon.  I hope you can use it.

Well, that's about all my news for today.  DIL Janet is coming by later today, and I need to get busy here and think of what I'm making for our supper.  Plus I'm sure there's more fun mischief waiting for me to find it.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I've had a couple of those nights lately as well where you find yourself banging around at 2:00 am. It used to really bother me, now I just try to savor the quiet of the night and read and play games on the computer.

Oh Edna,
What a lovely QP and I will have to use it sometime today. I think that it is just gorgeous. Thank You. I have so many that I have not used yet. (But I Will) I just have to work on my MoJo... It seems off lately.

I have to go to the Dr. between 5 and 8 tonight to the evening clinic. It seems that these antibiotics are not working. Looked good for a couple of days and now it is draining again and Oh Yuck.
Karyn is coming to spend some time with me... Horray for that... and she is cooking dinner tonight for me. Black Bean Corn Salsa and Fish Tacos.... I usually will not touch fish at all. But she makes these so good that I really like them. I will not go so far to say that I love them or they are my favorite but they are good for a meal once or twice a month.

It is nice here. It was pretty cool out this morning. 42 but it is 64 now. No need for the heater but Nathan was cold and he turned it on and both Jonathan and I woke up sweating. Looked at the thermostat and he had it up to 85. We shut it down.. told him... that's crazy.
My son Matt said when I talked to him this morning... "They don't know what cold is... It is going to be minus 10 tonight in Wisconsin" I will be glad to see him on Sunday. He is flying in to Austin but he has a huge layover... So his plane doesn't land here until 7 that night.

Gotta go.... Cisco is needing my attention.... Time to cuddle with my little man. Love, Beth

I have had several nights like that where I don't sleep and in the beginning it really bothered me but now I just get up and do others things such as read or do crossword puzzles. When I am tired enough I just go back to bed. You have a lovely blog.

thanks for the beautiful page! Oh I love what Kyra did! that page is wonderful! glad you got some things done. I'm always behind but used to it by now. it is much colder where you are. We've been chilly for us, but in the low 70s high 60's so can't really complain, and I love wearing my cuddle duds! think I said that before, but so much nicer than being constantly hot!

Nice that you liked the layout. Pogo always is a good subject LOL!
Oh, lovely that you will have a new Christmas tree. If it is a whee bit taller than the old one, I hope you will have enough decorations for it???? ROFL.
It's getting colder here this week, they say in the weekend temperature will not get higher than around 5C, which isn;t much, brrr,
Have a wonderful time with Janet and a tasty meal!
Hug
Kyra
