Finding My Way Back To Scrapping

September 16, 2015

Good morning.  It's beautiful outside but I haven't made it over to the door yet to open it.  I just wanted to keep on sleeping this morning.  Last night, I sat down at my laptop to look through some of my scrapping stuff, and the next thing I knew it was 2 a.m.

Gosh, going through all this stuff was like spending the evening with old friends.  I guess I'm missing all the fun of scrapping, designing, and being a member of scrap forums.   And I miss doing the challenges.  My favorite challenge was one where we had to design book covers, and write the story line for the book.  Here's a cover I made for a "romance" book.

This challenge was such fun, and it kept our creativity level high for both writing and design.  Is it any wonder I enjoyed it so?

I also re-visited one of the forums where I used to be an active member to check out their current monthly challenges.  I found a few that I like, so that will keep me busy for a while.  Plus, they have a monthly blog train that I might try.

While I was there, I also bought a few new scrap kits.  Gosh, there were so many beautiful scrap supplies, it's no wonder I was up so late.  If you want to have a look, this forum is called "Wilma4Ever".    Check it out.  It's a fun forum, and their designers are awesome.

One of the new kits that I bought was "Autumn Welcome" by Bella Caribena.  The colors are gorgeous, so I used this kit to make today's QP.  I hope you can use.

DIL Janet just called to say that she cannot come by tonight because she has a wake to go to.  Hmmm, I was going to try a recipe for orange glazed pork chops.  Well, I guess I'll make it anyway and freeze half of it.

If you're into politics, be sure to watch the Republican debate on TV tonight.  I doubt if I'll be watching, because I'm not into "mud slinging."   If the candidates would stick to issues only, I'd be more interested  in watching the debates.  I am offended by all the dirty laundry that is aired.  None of us has a completely clean personal slate.  I would just like to hear what the candidates have to say about how they can help solve our country's problems.

I've already picked the person I'll be voting for.  And, I'm not a Republican or a Democrat.  I don't believe in "parties."  I believe in being able to vote for the person(s) that I feel is best for the job.  Being a member of a "party" means that I have to vote for someone that other politicians have decided should get the job.  Hmmm, nuff said.

Well, it's getting close to lunch time here, so I'm going to head for the kitchen to see what's for my little guy's lunch.  (and some for me too!)  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I agree, I hate that the current debates don't even address the issues we need to deal with. Maybe it's because they don't have any solutions to offer ... what a surprise. I won't know who I am voting for until after the primaries. I like to hear and read about the candidates that interest me ... but I could tell you who I won't be voting for, Ha! That's easy for me :)

I'm still cutting my grass like a crazy lady. Every time I think it will slow down, we get another rain and then it's wheat fields again ... I should be the strongest women in town for all of this, but sadly, I am not. Even with all of the walking that Izzi and I do, I still get winded when I climb a hill ... always have, not sure why.

I was impressed with your book cover and story line, though it sounded rather sad. I am a mystery book reader myself. I devour them when I get into the mood. I like medical mysteries the best and there are some good authors that write them. I hate when I get hooked on an author and then have to wait for them to write another book ... :(

Starting next week I am helping teach a class of Raptor handling and care. We will meet every Monday for 6 weeks and then they have to pass a test before they can be volunteers at the Raptor Center. It is fun, because I get to spend time with the birds which I don't get to do much of these days. Izzi has taken up my summer for the most part, but thankfully, she is back on track. Soon we will start Agility again and see how she does.

Well, my friend, I hope you do get outside to enjoy this beautiful fall weather. I know both you and Pogo love going to the park to visit the birds and maybe this is a good time to go to the shore ... just a thought :) Be well, my friend ...

thank you so much for the gorgeous qp! I love it. I like the wilma4ever forum, and usually do the desktop challenge every month. Miggs gives away a cute mini every month, and since my niece is now 3 and 1/2 I love doing pages of her and seeing her all month long, so it's a win win for me. I took lessons via the Scrap N Pieces forum all spring, and then designed my 1st ever scrap kit this summer when I took her designer mentor classes. I loved the collabs you used to do and still have them!

Yesterday and today we have a political debat on tv too. It is about the new budget for next year and so, yesterday it was the day for the parliament, today we will have "answers"from the ministers and prime minister. It is kind of interesting to follow, although in the end nothing much will change I guess.
Yesterday was such a funny weather, it rained a bit on and off(more like some drizzle and one or two real showers), but temperature was awesome and it was very nice to be outside. So Jan went to the market and I went to town centre, LOL.
I needed a new drainer for the the washing up(I couldn't get the old one crispy clean anymore) and I found a new one for practically nothing, so mission accomplished!
May be it is a goo day and good weather for you to take a trip to the park with Pogo?
And then hopefully you will have a lovely night with lots of sleep!
Oops, it's looking very dark outside at the moment(it is 10 in the morning here), I think we will have a substantial rain shower coming on!
No idea yet what I will do today, perhaps I will spend a bit of time on ironing, and also watch tv during the debat, and perhaps even do some designing ?
You have yourself a lovely day!

Oh Edna,
I don't know how I missed this blog but I am so glad that I went back and checked again.

I have several Bella Caribena's kits... Yes I spelled that wrong. I have most all of her new Autumn kits. This one that you used for your Quick Page is actually in my wish list cart for the next time that I order. I was going to order it but instead I ordered Autumn Whisper instead. All of her kits are just gorgeous. Thank you for the QP.

I loved loved your cover that you designed and the story line... Awwwe come on.... what is the rest of the story??? Oh wow that grabbed my attention and will have me plotting out the scene all day lol.

I must run but hopefully you will have a great day and we can chat soon. Beth
