Busy Doing ? ? ? ? ?

August 21, 2015

Good morning.  I have been up for a while, but I've been busy doing goodness knows what.  I seem to be an expert at keeping busy and never really accomplishing much of anything.  Well, I have been watching the Weather Channel.  So I guess that's something.

Well yesterday afternoon Joe and I went grocery shopping at Walmart.  I hunted all over their very messy yarn department for a skein of yarn to finish off my afghan, but I could not find the color I needed.  Later I went on-line looking for it, but still no luck.  I was going to take a ride to JoAnn's Fabric store to see if they had any, but first I checked on-line.  A good thing too, because they were out of stock too.

While I was at Walmart, I picked up a couple balls of ribbon yarn and a pattern book.  Last night, I was looking at the patterns and realized that I would not be able to try any of them without someone to actually show me how to use this ribbon yarn.  They did have instructions, but my frazzled little mind could not make sense of them.

The mail carrier just came, and brought me an envelope from the manufacturer of the induction burners.  Remember they said they would send me an instruction booklet that explains how to cook on this burner?  Important things like what temperature to use for different things, how long to cook different thngs, etc.   Well they sent me a copy of the booklet that comes with the burner.  It tells you what the different parts are for, and what kinds of pans you can use on the burner.  Period.  So, I guess one has to just play around with these burners and learn the old fashioned way.  Trial and error.

On a happy note, the mail carrier also brought me two fun catalogues to browse.  They have such pretty clothes in them, and I just love looking at all the wicked funny tee shirts.  I guess I'm what you might call "a cheap date."  Toss me a couple of catalogues and a cold bottle of water, and I'm a happy little clam.

Here's another happy note that I borrowed from the web.

On a more serious note, I also borrowed this from the web.  My goodness, what a fabulous idea for folks with fur babies.

Well, that's about all the news here.  Before I go, I have another brain teaser picture puzzle for you.  There are ten eagles hidden in this image.  Good luck.

Now it's time to grab a nice cold bottle of water and settle down with my new catalogues.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

well i'm sorry about the cookbook. I know HSN has some, not sure if they are in stock, but you could check online. Too bad about the yarn. hopefully you can find some soon. I love that idea for your pets. I think I will add that to my wallet in case something happens to my hubby and I, better to be safe than sorry!

I am a star too in being busy, and when "ready"not really knowing what I have been busy with LOL!
Pity you couldn;t find the yarn you wanted, but perhaps in a few days or so they will have it in stock again?
Oh, I found you some links concerning the induction, perhaps they are of some use to you. I will send them by mail, okay?
We seem to have a lovely day today speaking of the weather. Yesterday is was almost all the time cloudy and felt like a thick blanket was over our head, not nice.
But today it feels a lot better, so that is good news fr my tomatoes, hahaha.
Think we will pass some time by watching the worldchampionships athletics from Beijing.
Then there also is European championship field hockey going on, oh my, lots going on. We hope for a medal on the 100 and may be even 200 mtrs sprint for women.
You have a lovely day, keep safe!

Hi Edna,
I finally was able to catch up on your blog and I want to tell you that I watched the videos of Jazzy early this morning, around 4:30 am. I couldn't sleep and wow she is just adorable and she is very talented.
I found 5 possibly 6 of the eagles. I was hoping that I could find all of them but I will keep trying. I won't give up that easy.
I have been feeling really down the past 2 days. I cant seem to pull myself out of this depression. Not right now at least. My son Matthew is flying in today. I hope that I will be able to see him. That will help a lot. I think that I will just have him take me away from here for a few days. Maybe to see my sisters or something. I need to get away from here.
I have some new kits downloaded. I wasn't able to find many of my other kits. I think that is another reason that I am feeling down, but between all of the wonderful designers that I know, they have sent me coupons for more downloads so I am grateful for that.
I am not sure if I will update my blog today or not. I have so much that I want to say in it but I need to decide how I want to word it and it might be best to wait until I am alone since it will probably involve a cry fest and I want to cry alone... I know that made no sense at all but I don't want to hear anything from the boys.... Cisco is the only one allowed to be with me... Until later... Hugs, Beth and Cisco.

I found all 10!! I usually have the worst skill trying to find everything I'm supposed to find in your brain teaser puzzles, Edna, so today I feel very victorious! :D And I'm writing this on Sunday but when I came to read your Sunday post I realized I hadn't read Friday's, so I wasn't trying to find the eagles all weekend.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're having trouble locating the yarn you need to finish the afghan! I know you'll be able to figure out the induction burners, it's a pain in the butt that the manufacturer thinks it's not important to let consumers actually know how to use their product successfully though. I wonder if there are forums online where you could ask other owners of the burners for advice? Like I said, I'm confident you'll figure that out. (You successfully boil water, right??) ;) No finding the yarn in the right color and dye lot or brand is a bigger deal.

I like the idea of a pet-card in with your ID stuff. When we travel the cats' adopted grandma or auntie aren't necessarily there 24/7 and usually not for the last day and a half before we're expected home. If we ended up in trouble I'd want their sitter to be called.

It's a gorgeous windows-open day here today, but open windows gave me spiders to slay. I'll be back later if they don't attack. :)

Hugs, Nani
