A Noisy Beginning For This Gorgeous Day

August 4, 2015

Goodness, what a way to wake up!!   During the night, I could hear the rain coming down, but then this morning a lot of crash, bang, booms woke us up.  Pogo was okay until a couple of the booms got rather loud, then he started barking.  I picked him up and held him until things quieted down a bit.

Good morning.  Things have cleared up for now and the sun is coming out.  However, the weather man says that we have more stormy stuff coming during the day and later this evening.  As long as it doesn't get too feisty, it might help to cool things down for a while.

There's not a lot of news for today, so let's check out a couple more of those "weird" jobs.  In China, you might consider a career as a fake businessman or executive if you look good in a suit.  According to Mitch Moxley, he was hired by an American company, for $1000 a week, to be in China, shaking a few hands and watching movies.  No experience needed.  This is mostly to create the image of connection that the Chinese companies crave.

In Indonesia, there are passengers for hire.   When the streets in Indonesia's capital, Jakarta, kept getting more crowded in the 1990's, the municipal administration enforced a consequential rule:  During rush-hour, there should be at least three people in each car.  Passengers for hire emerged.  They would wait along crowded streets to be picked up by drivers, in order to fulfill the minimum occupancy per car.  They earned a little more than $1 an hour.  (Info from Enterprise 7/20/15)

Today will be a quiet day for me and Pogo.  After I wash the breakfast dishes, I might just push the vacuum around a bit and disrupt a few dust bunnies.  Then I may have a little nap.  For some reason, I'm tired today.  Pogo will keep busy watching out his door for whatever the birds and the critters may be up to.  He's a very good watch dog.

Here's an adorable Minion cartoon explaining why one has to be very careful when exercising.

Before I take my leave, let me leave you with this fun puzzle that I borrowed from the web.  See how many faces you can find.

Now I'm going to have my coffee and catch up on emails.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Wow, that really was a waking up call, with all those bangs and booms!
There are weird jobs to find! Unbelievable, that people can think of so amazing "jobs".
If you feel a bit tired, you are right to take a nap extra!
Oh, I found 11 faces in that puzzle. Not all too bad hey?
It's a bit too nice weather to stay all too long at the computer, and I also want to do some ironing today, so I leave you, wishing you a terrific day!

Edna,
Good Morning. Can you send some of those storms to Austin Texas? I was just outside on the patio and watching the leaves on our trees fall. They need water so badly.
I am not sure what is going on with my blog. I still cannot post images and I have no line breaks even tho I have worked with the settings. I just don't know what is wrong. It could be something with Windows 10 as it was fine until I downloaded the new Windows.
Love the weird jobs... I could do a couple of those. I especially like dressing up in a suit and watching movies... Yep I could do that!
I managed to find 10 faces. I really like these little brain teasers. The internet always has something unique to find and to share.
I slept really well last night but I might just go back to bed for a little while. I really over did it the last few days and now I am just really feeling lazy. Have a great day... Beth
