Wow!! What Fabulous Fireworks!!

July 5, 2015

Good morning.  And what a lovely morning it is.  The sun is shining, and all the little birds and critters are happily scooping up all the goodies that we put out for them this morning.

Well, did everyone get to watch any fireworks displays last night?  Pogo and I decided to watch from the comfort of our living room.  First, we watched the display that Macy's of New York put on from the East River.  Wow, Wow, Wow!!  These were awesome!!

I took some photos (off the TV) with my cell phone in hopes that some would come out good enough to share.  Here are just a few of my photos.

I think I'll be watching this holiday display every year from now on.  Normally, I watch the Boston fireworks display, which was scheduled to take place shortly after the New York display ended.  I did start to watch the Boston display, but the view was very poor.  Most of what was visible on the TV screen was large dark clouds on the left half of the screen, and a very smoky display on the right side of the screen.

It just wasn't much fun to watch the Boston display, and after a while I shut it off.  Now when I think back, it's possible that it was just the position of the cameraman for the station that I was viewing.  Maybe I should have tried a different Boston TV station.  Oh well, at least I thoroughly enjoyed the New York display.

Yesterday was basically a quiet, lazy day for myself and Pogo.  I had thought I might crochet most of the day to get my Christmas projects closer to being finished, but well, life has a way of changing the best laid plans.  \

Instead, I played around on my laptop most of the afternoon,  and  started working on a few new QP's.   It felt good to be doing this again.  I'll be posting a new freebie during this upcoming week.  Next, I want to get back to taking a new photo every day.  I got away from doing this before I got so sick.   I'm about 90% back to my normal self now, so it's time to get back to the fun things I had been enjoying.

I have not made any special plans for today, however I do think I should start thinking about what's for lunch and supper.  Mr. Pogo is hungry, but has turned up his nose at his breakfast.  He did this all day yesterday too.  Some days, I just don't know what to make for him.  I could cook him a hamburg every day, but he would only eat every other one at best.

As a matter of fact, if I cook up two hamburgers and save one for the next day, he won't eat the second one.  It's a day old, and he does not want it.   Can you imagine that?  Now where did that come from?    Ah well, I love him anyway.

Well, that's about all my news for this morning.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oh WOW what gorgeous fireworks. Jon and I went out to eat and watched some really pretty ones but nothing like the ones that you posted. Jonathan has dragged me across Austin for the last 2 days. He is going to get his hair cut and wants me to go with him because I have been wanting my hair cut but there is just no way I can get out and go for a 3rd day in a row. My body is tired and sore. I came home yesterday and took some Advil PM and have slept until just a bit ago. Now some coffee and I will be fine. I think. LOL. I can get out more during the week. I have to go to the doctor on Thursday so if I have the money then I will get my hair cut then.

I am glad that your getting back into doing things that you enjoy doing. Same here on my end. One fun thing a day. One of the things that I enjoy is going to the Goodwill. I found a couple of books yesterday that I have been wanting so that was a plus for me. It was all that I bought and actually Jonathan bought them for me. A new book at the store is $7.99 so these for $1.98 were not bad at all. Jonathan found some work slacks that were really nice and a couple of shirts for work.

Oh I was going to tell you that we had a dog once that was just so picky. I boiled some chicken quarters and deboned them and brown rice and bagged them in single servings and froze them. Perhaps Pogo will eat something like that. I always had to warm up my dogs food in the microwave or he would not eat it. Talk about spoiled!!

I guess that I will close for now. I have not been on the computer all weekend other than to post my 4th of July page. Today is cleaning day and I think that I am going to go and start one of those new books Jon got for me. Have a great day... Hugs, Cisco and Beth
