Things Look So Different From Up Yonder

March 10, 2015

Good morning.  Gosh, it seems like I've been up for hours, but I've been busy trying to get the internet connection working.  It has been working fine since I got here, but this morning it would not allow me access.   Eventually, I had to call a support (phone) number to get help.

Well, yesterday housekeeping cleaned our unit first, so we were able to get out fairly early to go shopping.  First stop was at JoAnn's store so that Janet could buy some yarn and a new pattern book.  Next we went to Walmart for some groceries and a few miscellaneous items.

Pogo and I cruised the parking lot for a shady spot to park in while we waited for Janet to shop.  Would you believe there was not one shady place to park the car?  I kept the motor running most of the time so that we could run the air conditioner.  Finally I spotted the umbrella that came with the rental car.  I opened it up and used it to block the hot sun from the seat that Pogo was sitting on.  Yeah, if only I'd spotted that umbrella sooner!

Today I thought I'd share a few of the photos that I took while flying in the helicopter.   Here's a shot of the inside of this magnificent flying machine.  We're getting ready to take off.

These next two shots show some of the new construction that Disney has in progress.   It's amazing how different things look when you're in a plane looking down.

Here's a view of Rt. 192 where you'll find lots of fun things to do and places to explore.  That big orange roof is one of the first places I stop at whenever I come here.  It's called Orange World.  Attached to one end of it, and including three other buildings, is one of the flea markets that I enjoy visiting.

And lastly, here's a shot of the office and yard where we first got on the helicopter.  That round circle in the grass is where we will land.  If you have a chance to take one of these helicopter rides, do so.  It was really very enjoyable.

I think later this morning Janet may go over to the pool to swim a few laps.  Myself, I'll be settled in a chair on my porch with a cold bottle of water and my crocheting.  I think maybe tomorrow we'll go looking for some birds to photograph.  There's a little pond not too far from here, so we'll look there first.

I've been watching for the hawk to return, but so far I have not seen it. Most of the birds around here are the regular kind.  Mocking birds, mourning doves, cardinals, sparrows, etc.  They just don't usually sit long enough to get a good photo.

Well, that's all the news for this morning.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a beautiful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Really have enjoyed your adventures. I may not have commented on all of them, but been right along with you. I have been on a helicopter rides before, but they are not my favorite thing. Years ago, my sister and I flew in one of the glaciers of Alaska. Now that was awesome but a little scary too. Be careful and continue to enjoy your trip.

It looks fabulous from the air. It always does. I think that you got some really great photographs.

So sorry to hear about the non shady spots to park. I am glad that you spotted the umbrella. It is the way that it goes however. Either no sun or too much lol. It is nice that Janet is with you on the last of your vacation. I still have not seen my daughter yet since she got home from hers. She said she needed a vacation from vacation lol.

Have a great day, and lots of hugs, Beth

Hopefully yu will sot lot of birds when you go to that pond.
Just have fun, make the most of the time you still have there,

Does the umbrella come with th3e rental car for rain or is it intended for sun? You know commenting about that awful heat is just mean to us still in the snow?? ;) I'm glad you were able to keep Pogo cool while Janet was in the store!

I love your shots from the air! How neat it must be to get those.I don't think they'd be able to get me in a helicopter, but there is a wheelchair-basket hot air balloon in, I think California. That might be a good thing to put on my to-do list one of these vacation planning years.

Sorry the internet connection is being cranky, but at least you're not hanging out in alleys trying to get a signal like it's been years in the past! hehe

Hugs, Nani
