The Taxes Are Almost Done, Thank Goodness

March 19, 2015

Good morning.  Well, I did it again!  I stayed under the blankets till 9 o'clock this morning.  You would never guess that tomorrow is the first day of Spring.  Winter is just not ready to leave yet.  I'm watching the Weather Channel, and it looks like folks across the whole country are having yukky weather.

So, how did my day yesterday go?  Well I spent most of it trying to add numbers and make them come out with the same total more than once.  I don't know about you, but I do not find this to be much fun. (I add on paper with a pencil.)  If I had a normal house, filing taxes would be so much more simple.  But the main part of the house is a boarding house and it comes with a whole new system of filing taxes.

Ah well, I called my accountant and he can see me today at 1 p.m.  After that, I should be all set, except to sign on the dotted line and include a couple of checks for the feds and the state.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I want to thank Judy for sending me the name of the plant I posted yesterday, along with a link to a site that gives a lot of information about the plant.  It is called Bougainvillea, and it is ever so beautiful.  If you would like to read up about it, here is the link.

DIL Janet came by last evening and we had spinach pizza for supper.  Pogo was thrilled to see her.  He loves all his aunties, and he got to lay on her lap the whole time she was here.  Yup, he is definitely a ladies man.

Later, I was going to work on those last five rows on the Aruba Sea afghan, but instead I curled up on my lounge chair to watch a bit of TV.  Maybe tonight I'll try finishing the afghan.  My nerves are finally settling down from doing all this tax stuff.

Today I have a few more photos to share of the beautiful floral hedges in Florida.

As you can see, I am quite fascinated by all these beautiful hedges.  Ours are nice too, but they are all mostly plain green with some splashes of red in the Fall.  I love all the different colors and shapes of the southern floral hedges.

As I said before, I'm watching the Weather Channel while I type, and believe me the forecast is rather bleak.  The man speaking just now is saying that "....it's very damp here.  Rain tends to be wet......."  As I sit here and shake my head, I'm wondering how come he is paid so much money to come up with brilliant statements like that one.  I think I've missed the boat somewhere along the way.

Well, now I'm going to make a fresh cup of coffee and see if I can tempt Pogo to eat a little breakfast while I do a bit of blog reading.  Then it will be time to get ready to keep my tax appointment.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a super day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Taxes stink! Plain and simple. Today I saw a piece on the news about the over budget regarding the VA Hospital they are building in Aurora, CO. Of course, they have to hire outside help to sort it all out and I am sure that is not cheap! They also say "The taxpayer this...the taxpayer that....well I want to know do any of these losers even pay taxes!?!?! Argh.....always fun for me to stop by and I hope the snow leaves you alone for a while. we have rain all day today but I plan to do some laundry so I am staying inside. Have a wonderful weekend. Edna,

Well the weatherman needs to do a little more creative thinking, but I suppose that there might just be someone in the world that does not know that rain is wet, lol.

Yes that is the name of the flower that you posted and they are truly beautiful. I had oleanders where I lived and loved them. They grow so tall and fast and spread quickly. I am thinking next month of going to the farmers market and there is a park filled with gorgeous flowers close by. It sounds like a good outing.

So glad that the tax stuff is done. I am so sorry that you had to go thru all of that, but happy to hear your nerves settling down. I use to be a nervous wreck at tax time. It still gives me the jitters to think about it.

Oh yes, Pogo is a ladies man for sure! I actually thought of him yesterday. Someone posted on facebook a picture where someone took an old entertainment center and converted it into a place for their doggie. They painted it blue and it was really cute. I should have saved the picture. I will see if I can find it again.

Well company just came in to visit so I will close for now. Thank You Edna, I will enjoy the kits you send me, but no rush. You just rest! Many Hugs, Beth

I wouldn't be able to figure out how to file the taxes with your rental situation at all. If it were me I'd have to take it someone as this has never been my strong suit.

Hoorray, taxes done. Now your mind can relax LOL!
I've done them too, so we both are happy.
Lovely that Janet was visiting, and you had a nice chat and meal too.
as Jan is going to work today I will have to figure out something for dinner for me that will be easy and quick and on top of course tasty. Oh, I will find something, don;t worry.
Now have to do my blogpost and then one or two phonecalls.
Have a lovely weekend.

Who would’ve thought you’d somehow be thankful for winter storm? Haha! I hope nobody was hurt in this incident, though it sure gave some people a leeway to do their taxes before filing them in. Have a nice day, Sara!

As if computing taxes alone isn’t difficult enough, yours have to be more complicated than the normal process. Good thing you had your accountant to help you out with these. I hope everything’s settled well, and the next tax season wouldn’t be as confusing as it was for you. Good luck, Edna!
