Sleepless Again In Massachusetts

March 31, 2015

God morning from sleepless in Massachusetts.  Late in the evening, I had dozed off watching TV, and all of a sudden the TV started acting crazy and woke me up.  There were words on the screen saying "we cannot process your request, please call the office".   What request?  Next, the screen went black and the cable box started showing spinning numbers and letters instead of channels.  This is where I tried to shut off the TV.  It only took about ten minutes to accomplish this simple task.

I went to get up to call the cable company and that's when I got the wicked bad spasm in my leg.  Now I'm not just mad, I hurt and I can't get up to get my meds because it hurts too much.   Well, after a while I managed to get to my meds and down a pill.  Then I just had to wait it out for about another twenty minutes for the spasm to settle down.

Do you think maybe I'm wide awake by now?   It took forever to get through to the cable company only to find that there had been an outage of sorts and they were working to restore the cable.  Well at least I know there's nothing wrong with my TV.  I guess now it's time for a nice hot cup of cocoa or coffee and maybe some popcorn chicken to soothe my ruffled feathers.

I'll wait till around 9 a.m. to call the doctor's office and try to reschedule today's appointment.  By the time 11 a.m. rolls around, I won't be fit for driving anywhere.  It's just a follow up so I don't think the doctor will mind.

Today I have a couple of black and white photos that one of the parents at the play took this weekend.  They are just beautiful.   The first photo depicts every one's concern at the tornado that is headed their way.   In the second photo, Dorothy is enjoying the Lion's tale of woe.  Folks, the fellow who played the Lion was absolutely magnificent!

Another parent took this next photo of Jazzy as she started singing Over The Rainbow, and it is my favorite.

Okay, okay.  Enough of my "granny bragging" for now.  I just had to share these beautiful photos.  I also made a scrap layout that I will share.  Some time ago, I was given a photo of one of my great granddaughters, and I saw quite a resemblance in it to a photo I have of me when I was just two years old.

Yesterday I dug out both photos and made a scrap layout with them.  I used a background and some elements from several of Kyra's kits:  "Something Magical", "Wonderful Day" and "Innocent Thoughts".

Well, I've polished off all the popcorn chicken that I made up a little while ago.  Oh Yum Yum!!  And I've drunk about half of my cup of coffee (which is now cold).  I think maybe I'll curl up in my lounge chair and see if maybe I can catch a few winks.

Before I do, let me leave you with a few bits of useless information  that you might need to know, but probably don't.

Did you know that a dragonfly has a lifespan of just twenty-four hours?  And did you know that raindrops are not teardrop-shaped?  They are rounded at the top and flat at the bottom.  Wow, who knew?

The mayor of Washington once remarked:  "If you take out the killings, Washington actually has a very low crime rate."

Charles de Gaulle once made the statement:  "China is a big country, inhabited by many Chinese."

Trying to burn calories?  Banging your head against a wall burns 150 calories an hour.  I think I like chubby better.  And lastly, did you know that a pig always sleeps on its right side?  Simply fascinating!!

So, till April, Y'all take care and have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I am enjoying those pictures. They look like they came from a broadway play, amazing. When my son was in the 6th grade they did Wizard of Oz. It was the cutest thing ever. Not as professional but just cute. I think the entire class was in the play. The lion was one of his friends. He wore a pink bow in his hair. Our youngest really got into the play. When the wizard was mean I had to hold him back because he was going onstage after him. Your pictures bring back good memories. My goodness you and your great look so alike.

You were definitely not having a good night - thank goodness I don't get many cramps. I don't think people realize how debilitating it can be when they hit, especially if they last for any time length.

LOL.... What bits of information that I really didn't need to know but that I am awfully glad to have received along with a great big chuckle.

I love your layout and wow the resemblance is so startling. Beautiful layout. I agree that Kyra has some beautiful kits. Too bad I can't remember the names of the kits that I use when I play.

So sorry to hear of your leg spasm's. They hurt!! They hurt a lot. I had always been told that if you have them that your low on potassium and to increase your intake and eat more banana's and a few months ago I was reading an article that said you would have to eat a half a bushel of banana's a day to get the amount that you needed and to help with the spasm's that it is actually telling you that your water intake is low and to drink more water.
I have a thing on my phone that alerts me when it is time to drink water so that is good for me. I had a leg cramp the other night but I am sure that it was because I had really been walking a lot and not drinking as much as I should have.

The pictures are just wonderful. All of them are great. I really love the one where she is singing over the rainbow! Do you mind if I scrap it?

I am sorry that I have not been really active the last few days. Just been so tired and yesterday I laid down at 4pm and slept straight thru for the most part until 10 this morning. Jonathan made me get up and eat and I went right back to sleep. My body needed the rest I am sure.

I am going to go and update my blog in a little bit. I have been trying to catch up on things around here. Tomorrow I am going grocery shopping and get out for a little while. Nathan goes back to work tomorrow night after been off on his days off. So I know that I need to do some laundry as well.

Take care my friend and hope to hear from you when your able. Hugs, Beth

Great post Edna! I love those quotes! It is a mess again in the USA with all the laws, some want, some don't! I am shying away from FB for a while. Too radical! I just wish to be respected and left alone but that is not happening!!!! Someone had thoughts to ponder, Nixon destroyed tapes during Watergate. Hillary cleaned her hard drive! Any difference? Something like that! I do not like politicians period so I haver no regard for any of them. Liars, Cheaters, disgusting humans beings robbing the American people slowly but surely. It is my only political rant! I have a load of towels in the laundry and need to make a quick store run for a few items. I am hungry and am trying to hold off for a good lunch once eleven o'clock arrives! LOL! I try to eat my cereal each day, the stuff that is good for you! I like to walk and need to get busy again. I am not sure if you follow the Pioneer woman? But she lost 30 lbs. since last May simply by walking. I know i can peel off the pounds by walking! I found cute Easter pails and made baskets for the grands! I made for Addy, Brittany's lil girl since she and my son will be married soon, I hope! Then my baby Jayden and I made one for his lil cousin Drazah! She got the princess stuff, he got the Ninja Turtles! But I found an extra special pack of NT playing cards and Jeremy looked sad so he got those! LOL! Nick can not make it home for Easter (:-( ) but I will send that card before it gets too much later! We pick him up May 6 so we will leave on the 5th and drive the 7 hours and start filling sup the rental van. The mini vans seems to have so much more room than the SUVS and easier on gas! We still have a FREE night at our hotel so that helps! I had fun filling those Easter baskets. I found these colorful rocks, they look like plain rocks and you add water and presto! Colorful! I use to love that stuff when I was a kid!Well let me get busy here and get things accomplished! LOL LOL LOL Enjoy a beautiful day

Oh the photos from Wizard of Oz are fantastic!

The family resemblance between the photos of you and your great granddaughter is striking and sweet! I love seeing old photos and matching them up with current generations.

In your random closing quotes, that one about Washington. That must be why DC is still safer than my hometown, Detroit, huh? Take away the murders and Detroit still has about half it's violent crime left. :(

I hope it's a much more restful night tonight.
