Is That More Snow I See?

February 8, 2015

Good morning everybody.  Last night's snow started yesterday mid morning.  For most of the day it was a light snow, only a couple of inches.  Overnight it built up a bit, and this morning I woke to about six inches or snow all around my car.  And it is still snowing.  And it isn't supposed to stop until sometime Tuesday.  We're probably looking at a couple of new feet of the stuff.  You gotta love it, New England!  Here's a view from our kitchen window.

Well, yesterday I did start to make a dent in my taxes.  A small dent, but a dent.  I will spend more time today working on them.  Joe put up the new line for the hanging bird feeders.  The containers were filled and more food was spread under my car.  Needless to say, our little birdies were very happy.

Our squirrels are happy about it too.  Their feeding spots are all covered up with several feet of snow, so they count on the birds' food for their meals.

Here's the little bugger peeking in my door to make sure I'm not looking so that he can go back and get some more food.  I pretend not to see him most of the time.  After all, he's hungry too.  We'll just put our more food later.

Yesterday morning, Joe also went up on the roof of the shed and shoveled off all the snow.  There was about a foot and a half of snow built up, and it could very well have caused some serious problems.  Especially with all this new snow that's coming.

The "photo word" for January Day 3 was "Roof", so this photo of Joe shoveling snow off the roof will be posted on Page Two.

The update for Kevin is that he has to go back into Boston tomorrow (in all that messy weather) to have a Triple Endoscopy.  I looked this up on Google, and I was not very happy with what I read, so I won't go into it.   I'm just hoping that all goes well with these tests and the doctor can fix what is making Kevin so sick.

On a brighter note, folks there are only forty one more days till Spring.  Woo Hoo!!  And in three weeks, Pogo and I will be on our way to sunny Florida.  Gosh, I hope it is warm there.  I need warm.

Well, that's my news for this morning.  I want to do a bit of blog reading while I finish my coffee, then it's back to the taxes.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and warm and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Can I place a bid for Joe ... he seems to be endlessly helpful. You are blessed with his presence in your home, I do believe.

More snow ... oh my, does it ever end. You have really been bombarded this year more than usual I think. We are having a relatively mild winter compared to last year, but still wears on you. Our snow is too deep for Izzi to play in so we have to just take walks. The last two days it has been in the 40's and I noticed the stacks of snow are getting shorter and shorter ... soon she will be able to go out and romp again ... she can't wait!

Mint is doing fine. She is getting used to the cold (it has helped that the temperatures have been a little warmer). She is quite the trooper and just bundles up and out she goes. She loves the snow. I think she has taken a hundred pictures of it already. A totally new experience for her.

So sorry about Kevin ... I sure hope it something short lived so he can get back to his active life. That is an awful thing to happen to a yourg man. A few little prayers will help, I hope.

My cleaning activities are in a lull now with the kids home. But, honestly as much as I did, I feel like I have barely scratched the surface. Amazing how things build up when you are intent on looking the other way. And, of course you know ... some of that cleaning will only last a short time and need to be done all over again, ugh! Darn dust bunnies ...

Well, I can bet you are counting the days until Florida. Maybe with Joe there you will get out more this year than before. I know it will be a joy just feeling that warm sun. I can't wait for you to get there, out from under all of that snow. Here's hoping the flights are still flighting :) So better go, I hear stirrings downstairs so I want to go check them out. Stay well, Edna and loves to Pogo ...

Being snowed in is a good time to work on taxes. I have all my stuff just waiting on forms. I am old fashion, still do my own on paper and mail in. Take care and stay warm.

I hate to burst you bubble but I am sitting in Eastern MA and get your weather a few hours later so cabin fever has set in here too. I think you left out the whole month of March (which I agree I would like to do. We have 20 more days in Feb. 31 in March and 21 in April. so I think it is 72. However by Wednesday we will be ready for the 60's. Think all the snow will melt by Easter? VBG

Actually, we're both wrong. Spring 2015 begins on March 20, 2015 at 6:46 pm. Only 39 more days. That sounds even better. I looked it up on Google. I'll have to check there to see when summer starts too. You have a super evening. Hugs, Edna B.

Oh my, poor girl. More and more snow is building up!
I understand the squirrels are happy with you too! LOVE that photo of the one peeking into the room LOL!
I feel so sorry for Kevin. The test he has to undergo isn;t the most pleasant one. But if it will help to find a cure, well, it has to be done.
Surely hope soon the doctors know what is wrong with him!
Joe is really a blessing, isn't he?
I am so glad you have him around.
Now I will quickpy post, cause i am real late!
Have a wonderful day(in spite of the tax-job!)
Hugs
