I Was Not Meant To Be A Popsicle!!!

February 6, 2015

Good morning.  Gosh almighty, it is c-c-cold!!!  I checked a little while ago and it was only 4F degrees.  Even my little Pogo won't come out from under his blankets to eat his breakfast.   This big old house is hard to keep warm in this bitter cold.   Thanks to the insulation that my son put in several years ago, it is not as bad as it used to be.

A while ago, I ordered a mini-stepper exercise machine.  It doesn't take up much room, and I thought it might help where I can't go out walking.  I checked the "photo word" list, and the Day 9 word for January is "Repitition".  So this is a step, step, step to a healthier you.  (photo is posted on Page 2)

Of course, like everything else this wonderful gadget has to be assembled.   The box was quite heavy, so naturally the parts are heavy too.  So far, I've managed to attach one part to the base.  Next I will have to refer to the directions to figure out which nuts and bolts go on here.   This will have to wait though for another day when the floors are not so cold.

Today, I really need to buckle down and get started on my taxes.  I have an appointment with my accountant in less than two weeks.   Gosh, I hate doing taxes!!  I also have a couple of follow up doctor appointments coming up, but at least one of them will have to be changed as they are both on the same morning.  Plus, my new insurance now requires referrals so I will need one for my orthopedic doctor.

I have an interesting news article that I took from the newspaper a while ago.   This is the Terrafugia Transition, a flying car.  It's actually rather fascinating, but I can see it posing some horrific future problems.  With all the traffic accidents on the roads, will we now have to be worried about flying cars crashing down onto our homes and in our yards?  Oh my!!

One of the huge icicles hanging from my house broke off the other night and took down the line that our hanging bird feeders are on.  So yesterday when we went food shopping, I picked up a new line and Joe will fix it all later when he gets home from work.  Meanwhile, we have put lots of bird food beneath my car and on the ground nearby.  Can't have my birdies going hungry!

Well that's my news for today.  I need to get started on those dratted taxes.  So, till Sunday, Y'all be safe and stay warm, and have a super weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

In our part we are blessed with not really wicked temperatures, but in north and east of Holland there was a warning not to go onto the road, because they were very slippery.
Later today we will go to Severine's birthdayparty. well, party might be a big word, but okay, we will stay there for a while and then get home again.
Found a nice card for her.
That futuristic car look great but i wonder if it will really useful.
The other day a couple of students of our Technical University got a 1st price for their car on solarpower! It gives place to 4 peole and even has a small trunk for e.g. your groceries or suitcase.
And it has also a acceptable speed.
The car looks great.
Will do some more on a new kit now and then get a shower and dressed to be on time at Heidi's place.
Have a lovely day.
Hugs
Kyra

Your mini stepper looks like just the right size. Some of that exercise equipment can overtake the entire room. Good pick.
