Goodness, A Day With No Snow Falling

February 4, 2015

Good morning.  Gosh, good news this morning.  We're not expecting any snow for quite a few hours.  It's still cold, only 12F degrees, but nothing is falling from the sky.  Woo Hoo!!

There's a lot of talk on TV about the parade in Boston today to celebrate the Patriot's victory win.  I think it is a wonderful way to boost peoples' morale and show appreciation for the team.  However, I think if the city can clear streets and sidewalks for the parade, they should be able to clear sidewalks and streets where residents live too.

I've heard so much on the news lately of "Where will we put all this snow?", but I just heard  (on TV) that Boston has "snow farms" where they dump all the snow.  That said, they should fill dump trucks with all the snow on the side streets and truck it off to these snow farms.

Schools are open again, yet photos were being shown on TV of a school where no sidewalks or paths were shoveled.  It did not mention how many schools were in this same situation.  If I had school age children, this would really bother me.  So folks, make sure your kids' school has it's walks all cleared.  We don't want children having to walk in the street.

On a lighter note, want to see a pretty photo?  As much as I'm not too crazy about all the snow, I do see the beauty in it.  Here's a shot of my flag in all it's glory with a beautiful snowy background.

Do you remember a while back that I mentioned ordering some stuff so that I could get the freebie that was offered?  Well, that freebie was a pair of "Wizard Of Oz" socks, and I wanted them for Jazzy.   Here's a photo of the socks.  (photo is from website)

What I did not know was that Deanne had ordered a pair of ruby slippers for Jazzy.  So when the shoes came, she took a photo of them with and without the Oz socks.  Such fun!

An update on Kevin:  He went for a series of tests with a specialist yesterday, and he goes back next Monday to have a procedure done.  I'm not sure what, so I'll have another update on this next week.

An update on Eddie:  His surgery went well, and yesterday he was up and trying to walk.  Groan, groan, groan.  I can't imagine how that had to hurt.  Eddie, I'm wishing you a speedy recovery, and Pogo sends a woof and a lick for his favorite uncle.

Well that's my news for this morning.  Now I'm going to enjoy a hot cup of coffee and do a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and warm, and have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Boy, I had no idea I had fallen so far behind on coming to see you. I perused through you posts and sort of brought myself up to date ... my goodness, you have a busy life. Lots to talk about. The one thing I couldn't find was what had happened to Kevin ... I sure hope he is going to be alright and whatever is bothering him doesn't interfere with his wonderful baseball career.

Well, the kids are here. I picked them up at the airport this morning ... my son is sick and they are both wiped out from 24 hours on the plane plus the jet lag issue. They went to their apartment and fell asleep and we haven't heard from them since. Hope they are both feeling better soon. Mint was pretty overwhelmed with everything but she is going to be fine. It will all take time for her to get used to a world that is totally different than hers plus it is COLD! Cold in Thailand is 65 degrees, Ha! Well, Izzi is ringing the after dinner potty time bell so I had better run. Glad all is well with you and Pogo ... and glad Joe is going to Florida with you. Be well, Edna ... I'll be back soon, I hope. Much going on :)

Glad that you had no more snowfall.
Those Wizzard of oz socks look great and what a good idea to give them to Jazzy.
Nothing more to say than"stay put"don;t go out if you can help it, and hopefully the snow and old will go away soon.
Hugs

It amazes me how we have to clear our walks in the snow but the government does nothing~ Typical government baloney! Love those shoes and socks from the wizard of Oz! Sweet! Prayers for Kevin too. Darn I just hate when the phamily has health stuff going on. Stay warm and keep posting!
