Yeah, My Holiday Projects Are Finished!

November 19, 2014

Good morning.  The sun is shining, but it's not tempting me to rush outdoors just yet.  It's also quite cold!  Later this morning I do have to go out for an appointment at the nail salon.  Perhaps while I'm out, I will stop and pick up some more bird seed.  Or maybe I'll wait till Joe gets home from work, and ask him to go with me.  The bags are heavy for me to lift.  Yup, I think that is a better plan.

There were a couple of interesting items in the news yesterday.  One was that Charles Manson is getting married.  Can you believe that?  After all the atrocities that he is responsible for, I cannot understand why he is allowed to marry.  What exactly is prison for?  Especially for someone like him?  I just don't understand this legal system of ours.

The other interesting article was about "Drive Thru Church" for folks who just don't have the time to go to church.  The pastor being interviewed explained that we have a drive through for food, dry cleaning, medicines, etc.  So why not a drive through for God?   You drive up to the window, the pastor comes out, gives you a brief sermon and blesses you.  Amazing!  I wonder what folks will think up next.

Well, I have finally finished the lavender afghan.  Phew!!  All my holiday projects are finished.  This year I made sixteen afghans.  Last Winter, if anyone had told me that I would make that many afghans before Thanksgiving, I'd have said that they were crazy.  Hmmm, funny how things work out.  Here's a photo of this last afghan, and also one of the scarf that I finished.

I'm already thinking of things that I could have or should have made, but well, there's always next year.  Now I need to focus on finishing up my wrapping, addressing envelopes, etc.  Tonight, I will take the turkey out of the freezer, and put it in the fridge to start thawing.  I'm hoping to cook it over the weekend.

Well, now I think I'll have me a second cup of coffee and do a bit of blog reading.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

You were a busy lady with all those projects. Your work is beautiful.
As far as Charles. He is a creepy guy. Who in their right mind would want to look at him let alone marry him. Did you see his bride to be when she was interviewed. She's just look his groupies were.
We go to the Church in the Mall. Yep, it's in the mall. It is beautiful, small, wonderful people. It is called the church of hope for all people. No drive through, hah.
Stay warm and inside as much as you can.
I am headed for an hour drive to return the test equipment. And it is supposed to snow.

Only 112 days of winter left ... that sounds doable to me. I have waited longer for less positive results! Wow, you have really been on a crative binge ... lots done and now wrapping ... Good God, Lady. Do you have time to come to my house and help me figure out what I need to do for Christmas ... I don't think I have even started.

I think Drive Through Church is crazy, but it does have an up side ... first it is better than not going at all and second, you don't have to put up with all of the gossipy women (one of my pet peeves about church is that it can be worse than high school with it's clicks and gossip!). As for me, nature is my church ... I can't feel any closer to God than I do when I am out reveling in his creations.

Charles Manson ... why does that name keep coming up. I agree, they should have put him in a box where he had no access to other humans. His so called wife must have a death wish ... wonder how long she will last! This world we live in gets scarier every day. Well, Izzi is ringing her bell ... could mean she has to go potty, but more than likely it means she wants to go out(in the cold) to play. Your kitties and Pogo will, at very least, learn to co-exist without incidence. And I can tell you that works. They will just walk wide circles around each other and go about their business. I think it is more likely for them to become friendly if the cat was there first ... that has been my experience anyway. It doesn't mean it couldn't happen otherwise ... time will tell. I'm off to spend the next ten minutes putting my multiple layers on so I can take Izzi out. Hope you have a wonderful day and while you are out look into a heater for your outside water ... even the animals out there will drink out of it.

I'm more concerned that there is someone who would want to marry Charles Manson. Is that person in jail too? I hope so!! But I do agree, in prison you shouldn't be able to have enough contact with anyone who want to marry you and an inmate should not be allowed to get married. (I could jump up on the soapbox about decent people who can't marry while Charles Manson can? What a disgusting slap.)

I don't know if I'd want the quality of my religion compared to the quality of fast food.

Beautiful afghan and scarf; your crochet work is excellent! I did a scarf in similar colors plus black accent a few years ago. It was a great match for my raincoat (with a thermal lining) You are officially leaps and bounds ahead of me on Christmas! :)

Okay, I need to get back to planning! (and another cup of coffee!)

Yeah, I heard about Charles manson too, he's getting married? I think the lady who wants to do so must be completely out of her mind!
Love your afghan amd the scarf looks great too.
You did a lot of afghans this year, gosh!
Better idea to wait for Joe to come home and do the shoppning with him.
Have a nice time at the nail salon and a wonderful day.

I agree with Nani - I can't believe there would be someone stupid enough to marry him. But, I guess there's somebody for every one.
