Lots Of Rain Heading Our Way

October 22, 2014

Good morning.  Well, Mr. Pogo decided that we should get up extra early this morning.  So, there was no more sleep for me after 5 a.m.  I guess he thought I would just get up and cook him a hamburger or something like that.  Well what he got was a plate of doggie food.  Guess who crawled into his little bed and went back to sleep?   (No, it wasn't me!)

It's supposed to be quite windy and rainy today and tomorrow.  Pogo has an early morning appointment at the beauty salon, so I'm hoping that the heavier rains will hold off until later today.  While we're out, I'd like to check out a couple of sales at local craft shops. We'll see.  It depends on the weather.

I have a photo of the "Fried TV" afghan to show you how pretty it is looking.  The colors are named Turqua and Bright Mix.

The yarn that I had ordered last week arrived yesterday.  Oh my, such pretty yarn!!  My fingers started itching to play with all this beautiful new yarn, but first I have to finish up the current projects.  One of the new yarns matches perfectly with a pretty yarn (a shade of green) that I had picked up a while ago.

The green is a soft "new leafy green" (it has no name, just a color number), and the new yarn is Green Tones.  They look beautiful together.

I've already made up a list of afghans and lapghans that I want to make after the holidays have gone by.  So, it looks like I'll be busy for some time.

Well, Pogo and I have to be getting ready to leave shortly.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I'm going to have to go to our local park and get some pictures of the sweaters being made for the trees. I can't imagine sweaters on the big trees in the park but it's a big deal this year. So I'm going down and check them out. Maybe get a picture of the gr-grand sweetie by her favorite sweater.

And of course that picture will be on my blog eventually.

So many fun colors to choose from. Not sure what a lapghan is, but it sounds more achievable by someone like me. I'm guessing it's a smaller sized afghan. I think I need to learn how to do this. It would be a fun project to make smaller baby sized ones to donate to hospitals for their Linus project. I love quilting, but it does involve a lot more "stuff" to have to haul out and work with. Crocheting (or knitting) I could do while traveling much more easily.

Holy Cow you have been busy! I, too, have been swamped, but not doing what I want...busy settling things to get this duplex rented!! LOL, I know, I asked for it!! ROFL!!
Anyhow, I think most of the hard work is behind me now and I am able to sit for a few to catch up with friends. Wish we could get some of your rain, but the winds always blow it away from us...we still are having temps in the upper 80's, but with no HUMIDITY so it has been rather pleasant to be outside working on things... :)
Your Pogo sure loves his place at the door doesn't he? Just like my fur babies love the window sills and especially since I have been able to open them for sounds too, keeps them occupied! LOL
Well, about time to shut this down and try to close everything up and water the plants before TV and snoring time sets in. Y'all have a great rest of the week. Hugs, Mat

Love the new colors. You work so fast.
Our doggies get up a few times a night. They think it is time to eat. Since the yorkie is on a restricted diet she is always hungry. Now she has her big brother (the Springer) thinking it is always time to eat. They drive us crazy. The big one is too thin and I'd love to leave food out for him to eat all day. But someone a lot smaller would be chowing down.
Stay dry in the rain. We've had a lot but it hasn't been too bad. Like I know, I haven't been out of the house since Sunday.

Well, I hope your day turned out as planned. Cold and rainy doesn't sound good to me. We are cool still but no rain in the forcast this week ... thankfully.

I had a bad day Tuesday ... I stuck my finger in the hedge trimmer while Dave and I were clearing one of the gardens. It chewed up my middle finger pretty good, but I didn't go to the emergency room until yesterday when I took a look at it in the morning ... it was ugly. Then at the ER, They gave me a nerve block in my finger so they could stitch it up and the block didn't work. By the time I got out of there it was hurting worse than it did when it happened. Today it feels better unless I bump it on something ... which I am sorry to say, does happen. So tonight Izzi and I have class ... hoping I can still throw Izzi's ball to her when she makes a good run. Oh my ... old poops shouldn't do yard work.

I love your green yarns ... a great combination. I look forward to seeing what you do with it. It might make a beautiful laphgan for somebody ... just sayin" Well, the day has flown and I need to eat dinner because it is almost time to leave. Have a nice evening ... maybe you should put a sleeping pill in Pogo's night time snack so you can get a full night sleep. Be well, my friend ...

I love the way you take good care of your little guy Pogo. I know he is glad you chose him at the shelter. He is very blessed to have you. I tell others all the time, our little furry ladies and guys are not our friends, but our babies. I call Babs and Queen my little girls. I love pogo sitting at the door on his cute little blanket. He sit there like he is really enjoying the scenery outside. I wish Babs would go back to sleep, but she only sleep if I am sleep. I assume when she was just a few months old when my son bought her for me, she was always in my arms. queen is like Pogo, she will definitely get her sleep. (lol)

All colors of the afghans look lovely.!
Hmmm, Pogo is such a tease. First waking you up to have some very early breakfast and then leaving it and crawling back to his bed!
Hope you wll have a dry outing, and who knows what you will find in the stores, while Pogo is having his beauty treat?
Have a great day
