Have A Pool Party For Your Fur Babies And Invite Their Friends

August 18, 2014

Good morning.  Yup, it's gorgeous outside my door again, and I'm just loving it.  There is a light breeze, and our flag is blowing gently against a backdrop of green trees and blue sky.    Folks, it can't get any better than this.

Pogo and I didn't do much of anything yesterday.  We just sort of laid back and enjoyed this fabulous weather.  Every now and then, I pick him up and hold him by the screen door so that he can watch what is happening outside.

I need to go shopping to find us a new storm door that has glass (plexi-glass) and screen from top to bottom.  This way my little guy can sit by the door all day and watch the birds and squirrels.  And I'd be able to see out the door when I'm sitting.  Right now, I have to stand up to see out the door because the plexi-glass and screen are only in the top portion of the door.

Remember the two new yarns that I was in a hurry to make something with?  Well, I started an afghan with them and it is coming out really nice.  The two colors are Cornmeal and Marrakesh.  Here's a photo of how it is looking so far.  Isn't this pretty?

I've been watching the Weather Channel, and they're showing a video clip of a "dog days pool party".  There are all kinds of dogs there, some splashing and swimming about in the pool and others running around and playing with assorted toys.  Wow, what a fabulous idea!

Next, I have a photo of one of the birds that comes to our feeder.  It's a red-winged black bird.  I couldn't get a very good shot through the window, but this one at least shows the bird's beautiful wing colors.  It's a red patch edged with yellow.

Lastly, I have a photo of my handsome Pogo.  This one was taken at the baseball game this past Saturday morning.  I'm going to have to get out my sewing supplies and try to make his harness a bit smaller.  I love walking him when we go different places, but at some point he walks right out of his harness.  Meanwhile, his stroller gets a lot of use.

That's about all the news for this morning.  Now it's time to spend a few minutes on my "Gazelle".  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Good Morning Miss Edna and Pogo!
Been awhile since I got to visit, been so terribly busy with getting this duplex ready to sell. Finally got it listed and had a few showings this part I hate because of my fur babies having to be shut up. Also been a little frustrated with the "brown outs" of the electricity in our area and crashing my work.
Love all your photos and was happy to catch up on your life. Glad you are getting to do a few things...isn't retirement wonderful. Gorgeous new afghan in the works love the colors together. Hope your lovely weather continues to hold out. Ours has been very sporadic this year. Had a little rain yesterday, but not much for us, but all around us got good soaking. The humidity is creeping back up each day making it so miserable to be outside. (I think I am just getting old and easily irritated when I am too sweaty...LOL...maybe I am just spoiled, huh?)
Well, off here to do some more blog visiting. You both have a great week ahead.Hugs! Mat

The new afghan looks lovely, I like the cream color with just a touch of the bright colors with it.
The pool party sounds like fun, but I don't think George and Gracie would enjoy it much. Not sure what cats would do to party...maybe I don't want to know.

If you have a little pool in your garden such a dog splash party could be fun!
Don´t think it will work for cats LOL!
Love those new colors of the afghan, so happy and warm.
This afternoon we will visiting Heidi and Danny, then Danny will show Jan the possibilities of the new interactive tv system they have and such, if Jan likes it, perhaps Heidi will make a phonecall to our tv supplier to see what they can offer, it seems heidi is a very good negociator!
So may be soon we will have better tv. We already have digital, but there are so more possibilities, also with recording much easier and such.
We´ll see what happens.
I am progressing only very slowly on the computer, but I take my time, don+t want to install too much all at once, first have to see if this laptop holds out.LOL
Have a great day, hope your weather stays as good as it is now!
Hugs
Kyra

I agree with you on the yarn colors; SO pretty!

The photo of Pogo from baseball is totally cute. David wants to get a harness for Marco in the hopes that if he takes him out for walks on a leash he'll stop wanting to go out when the door is open. I think Marco may be a little bigger than Pogo now! I think it'll be funny watching a 6'5" man walking a cat. hehehe
