A Busy Day Today

August 4, 2014

Good morning.  Today is looking to be a beautiful day with lots of sunshine.  Pogo and I got up early and met Dee and Kevin at the local driving school so that we could wish Kevin good luck.  In this state, driving school is mandatory before you can apply for a drivers license.  Kevin is already a very good driver, so he should do well in class.

Now I'm just waiting for the man to come and install a remote starter in my car.  This is my retirement gift to myself.  Come next winter, I'll be ever so glad I have it.  The company just called and said that the man was on his way.

After that, I'll be waiting for the Fed Ex truck to pull up with my exercise equipment.  SIL Eddie will come by one night after work and set it up for me.  Hopefully, I'll be able to use it without any problems.  We'll see.

I promised you photos of some of our new little birdies.  These photos were taken through my kitchen window.  The birds all love to sit in the rose bush just outside my door, and it's a safe place to feed the babies.  See why I love watching out my window?

Well, I can't chat too long.  The man just arrived to do the remote starter installation.  Pogo is getting antsy, so I have to pick him up and let him look out the screen door to check this man out.  I am going to have to look for a storm/screen door that has a window on the very bottom so that Pogo can see what's happening outside.

So, that's it for this morning.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Good afternoon, pretty warm here, the humidity is creeping back in after 5 days of none and very decent mid 80's range, we are heading back to the triple digits and still no rain for us, all around and some places even flooded only 20-30 miles away, but not even a trace for us...guess we aren't paying someone right...LOL!
Lovely photos you took of the boys in the rain and the rain drops are simply awesome. The birds are fantastic...hope you enjoy your new starter system in the car...rest, relax and enjoy your freedom from working....LOL! Hugs, Mat

I've been looking at glass all the way down screen doors for our closed-in porch since the furkids spend so much time out there.

A remote started=r is a great retirement gift to yourself! It'll be especially great come winter.

The babies are too sweet!

Oh, and Toledo water is back and safe! :)

Hugs, Nani

I love the photo of the mother bird feeding the little one, such a sweet moment.
We used to have an automatic starter on the van and loved it. When you're out and about you can click it to start heating up the car so it's warm (or at least warmer) by the time you arrive.

Oh I could tell you stories about remote starters. My neighbor, years ago had one installed because he had received a threat on his life, so he would start his car on the driveway to make sure it wasn't going to blow up ... of course, if it had, it would have blown our house up too, Oh my. Then later when we had moved we bought a new car and it came with a remote starter on the key fob. My husband carried the key fob in his pocket and accidentally started the care without realizing it ... our garage was connected to the house and if we hadn't found it right away the fumes could have done us all in. So since that time we have stayed away from them even though our garage on this house is not attached ... it's just the idea. You park your car outside, right? So this is perfect for you. By the time you go out the car will be warm and the windows clear. I agree, a very nice retirement gift for you and Pogo.

My friend (travel companion) came over yesterday and we went shopping for a long skirt and top to wear on our trip ... for the few dressy up occasions ... which will be few, I hope, because I am not a dressy up kind of person. I did find an outfit that I like though ... I am getting nervous because we leave in three weeks ... OMG. It seems like I have too much to do to get ready. I am going to have to sit down and make lists so I don't go bonkers. My neighbor is going to feed my birds (outside) so that is a load of my mind. Now I have to figure out what I can store for my husband to eat for two weeks. My son says, don't worry, we are going to eat Pizza every night ... ya right:)

Anyway, I started this comment last night and go pulled away from the computer and was surprised to see it still sitting here waiting for me to finish it. So, I haven't even read today's post yet. Oh well, I will come back for that later ... hope you had a nice restful night:)
