Arthur's On His Way!

July 3, 2014

Good morning everybody.  Goodness, but it has been hot here.  And it's going to stay that way for a while.  It's almost ten o'clock and it's already up in the mid 80's F.  By mid afternoon, we'll probably be kissing 90F.  These old bones do love to be warm, but hot and sticky isn't much fun.

Yesterday, Dee Dee and I supposedly went birthday present shopping, but she had other ideas.  Instead, we spent hours shopping for just the right air conditioner with a dehumidifier in it for me.  Once it was loaded into the backseat of my car, we went to enjoy a delicious lunch at the Olive  Gardens.

Once we got back to my place, Eddie called to say that his car would not start, and he could not drive it home.  Time to call a tow truck to bring the car home.  It was very hot yesterday, so the car breaking down did not make for very happy campers.  To make matters worse, this all happened during traffic rush hour, and the tow truck with Eddie and his car got stuck in a lot of traffic.

By 6 p.m., everyone was back home.  My goodness what a day.   Later, after dropping Jazzy off at her theatre group, Dee and Eddie came by here to install the new air conditioner.   It was super hot inside my place so this was very much appreciated.

The one important photo that I meant to post yesterday somehow never got posted.  So sorry about that.  Instead of a cake, I had ordered a dozen custom designed donuts from the Dunkin Donuts that dwarf Helen manages.  I must say they were really beautiful, and  were a big hit.  They were designed after two of Dee Dee's favorite things.  The Boston Red Sox and the American Flag.  Have a lookee.

Oh yuk!  They are showing the weather forecast for our area on the TV, and it shows that the next seven days' temps will be in the low 80'sF to 90F.  There will also be a few thunder storms scattered here and there. through out the week.

Speaking of thunder storms, we are expecting some heavy rain and wind later tonight and tomorrow from Hurricane Arthur.  Right now, this storm is busy causing havoc along the North Carolina coast.  Hopefully, it will lose most of it's steam before it get's up here.

Today, Joe only has a half day at work, so we'll do our food shopping early this afternoon.  Other than that, I'm not planning on making many trips outside in this heat.  Unfortunately, the high temps and humidity do not play nice with my asthma.

Well, that's all the news for this morning.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hope your new AC keeps you nice and cool. We've been in the 60's and 70's here - very nice.

Good you have a great AC because that sticky heat isn;t nice and certainly not when you hghave a bit trouble breathing.
It was bad luck for Eddy with his car, glad he finally made it home.
Some food shopping always seem to be necessary, hopefully it will not be too hot for you and Joe.
And the rest of the day you try to stay a bit coll, okay?
And here hoping that Arthur doesn;t pass your area!
Hugs
