A Refreshing Trip To The Ocean

July 14, 2014

Good morning.  The sun is shining and the sky is a beautiful blue.  It's looking to be another great day here in my little part of New England.  Yesterday was a bit warm, but it was a good day to go to the ocean.  And we did.  Pogo and Miss Helen and I went to Plymouth Harbor.

Oh my, the sea breezes felt soooo good.  The only down side was that there were so many people and boats that there were hardly any birds to be found.  We tried to park closer to the Mayflower so that Pogo could run around on the grass, but it was crowded and there were no parking spots.

So, we parked behind a restaurant along the Harbor, and walked around until my legs gave out.  Every now and then we found a bench to sit on for a while to give my old legs a break.  It really felt good to breathe in the ocean air and listen to the different harbor sounds.

There were so many different types of boats in the water.  Here are two that I found most interesting.  One is a Paddleboat (steamboat), the Pilgrim Belle, and the other is a water taxi.

I will have more photos of the boats to share as soon as I get them cropped.  Because today is Mandarin Orange Monday, I played a bit in Photoshop with a couple of the  photos.  Sorry, I did not write down the different textures and filters that I used.

It was a long day, and after supper last night, Pogo and I turned in early to watch a bit of TV.  I did put the last few rows on the turquoise afghan, so that is finished.  Woo Hoo!

An update on Kevin's games --- His team lost the game on Friday (their first loss all season), and won their game yesterday.  So they are still in the running for State Championship.  Go Team!!!!!!!!!

Now I think I'll have me another cup of coffee and decide what mischief we can get into today.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a magnificent day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I'm glad you got to the Ocean for the day! No birds, but I like your boat pics! I think the filtering for Mandarin Orange Monday is great! At first glance I thought they were vintage photos to go with your new ones; fantastic!

I'll be posting abut our long weekend soon, but first more coffee!

Hugs, Nani

Edna, your first MM photo looks like Bug Light -- did you take the ferry to get that close??? Sounds like you had a great day in my old back yard !!!!!

too bad about no birds, but the boats were lovely. I love that area in your neighborhood. It's cold and rainy here now - next week should be in the 90's - you can never tell what the weather's going to do next.

Donna, No, I was on land, but I used my little camera with the big zoom. And yes, we had a great day! You have a nice evening. It's cooling off now. Hugs, Edna B.

Must have been a wonderful day at the ocean, and so nice you had Helen with you to chat with.
Love that old boats, they have something special about them.
S it sounds that today it will be a good day to give your old legs a rest, hey?
For the moment it's cloudy here with a bit of wind, it might rain even a bit. But later on they promised us sun, lots of sun the rest of the week.
Have a great day
