A Big Drop In The Temps Today

May 13, 2014

Good morning.  It's a lovely day even though our temps have dropped about twenty degrees.  Today will stay in the mid 50's F, but with no rain.  Tomorrow will warm up a bit more.

I'm watching the weather channel, and it is showing all the heavy rain in the eastern half of Texas.  Folks, wouldn't this be a good time for this state (and others in this section of the country) to start thinking about putting in water pipelines?  The overload of the heavy rains could be piped to the arid sections of the states.  Yup, it's expensive, but so isn't loss of life, both human and wildlife.

Yesterday was such a gorgeous day.  Pogo and I went out to do some errands, and on the way home we treated ourselves to lunch at Burger King.  All the while we were out, the back car window was open and Pogo was loving the warm breeze in his face.  It is so easy to please this little fellow.  I just wish it was this easy to get him to eat his doggie food.  Ah well, I'll just keep trying.

In the afternoon, I was able to open the window near my lounge chair, and enjoy the fresh air while working on the blue afghan.  There's only about eight or nine more rows to go and it will be finished.  DIL Janet says we can go visit the JoAnn's super store tomorrow afternoon to look for more yarn.  I have a 20% off coupon so this could be a really fun shopping  trip.

On my way to work this past Saturday evening, I had to stop to let this turkey cross the road.  I took advantage of being stopped and shot a few photos.

I have a couple of really cute photos from the web to share with you.  This first one is just so darn cute.  Most every one in this state is a Red Sox fan, even the squirrels.

This next image had me giggling for quite some time.  It so reminds me of my little fellow.  He's only as big as a tea pot, but he'll stand up to the biggest dogs.

Now that Spring is here with warmer temps, the tick population is growing and becoming quite a problem.  You need to check yourself and your pets carefully when coming in from outdoors.  These pesky little critters are so easy to go unnoticed until they have created a problem.  This tick warning notice was posted on the web.

Okay, I feel good.  I've had my laugh for today.  Now I think I'll chase a few dust bunnies around the house and maybe even trap a few with the vacuum.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Lady, I hear you ... our temperatures are dropping as well and are supposed to remain cooler the rest of the week. Cooler meaning highs in the low 60's. I can live with that. In fact, I like those temperatures to work in the yard, but the problem is, it all comes with rain, so when everything is wet I can't do much.

I love your Turkey ... how neat to be in the right place at the right time ... and have your camera handy.

I am having another busy week ... chances are it is going to be this way for awhile. I am looking for a place that will dye some cushion covers and so far, I am not having much luck. I can see me having to dye them in my utility sink, ugh!

I think it is great that you are crocheting all of these wonderful afghans ... what a relaxing, enjoyable passtime. I am envious at this point. I would love to be able to sit down to do anything. But the time isn't right for me, I am glad it is for you.

I am off to the store for groceries and to find some shoes to wear to my Granddaughters Graduation this weekend. I just can't believe how this time has flown ... and continues to fly. You have a wonderful day, Edna. Love and Kisses from Izzi to Pogo.

Edna, every time you mention the dust bunnies, I am reminded of a sign I saw online a while ago, but can;t find it now. It said BEWARE -- THIS HOUSE IS PROTECTED BY ATTACK DUST BUNNIES

Gonna send you a couple of similar things by email.

It are the good times, when one can open a window or door and let the air come( it means that outside temperatures are nice enough to do so). For now our temps are a bit too low to open the garden doors right away in early morning, but I hope to be able to do so soon.
You are going quick with your blue afghan, gosh!
And wicked Janet had a good proposal for tomorrow: going to the vraft store. But you know you will be tempted to buy more yarn LOL!
The other day I saw a gorgeous peachy color yarn, would be great for a sweater, but first I want to finish a new started knitting project, which will take a bit of time, so probably I will be able to be strong anough not buying that yarn( however not sure about it LOL).
Love that pic of the two dogs and awesome that warning sign about ticks hahaha.
Have a wonderful day,
Hugs
