Splish! Splash! Pogo Wants To Play!

April 4, 2014

Good afternoon.  Wowee, I could have kept right on sleeping.  Yesterday I felt a bit sluggish, and last evening it wasn't any better.  I was very tired, but not enough to fall asleep.  I even tried crocheting for a while but kept losing interest.  Finally I took one Melatonin and slept until 11 a.m. this morning.

Maybe all that fresh air yesterday jiggled my brains a bit, and that's why I was so tired.  Hmmm?  I had an appointment at the nail salon, and from there Pogo and I did an errand (or tried to).  I was trying to deliver some things to Dee's house, but no one was home, so I turned the car around and Pogo and I went to the park.

There were a few swans, lots of geese and ducks, and a variety of gulls and black birds.  Needless to say, Pogo was in doggie heaven!  He was so busy running from one goose poop to the next goose poop.  Each one had to be sniffed.  Then he climbed up onto the little stone wall to watch all the activity in the water.

I turned my eyes away from him for a moment, and next thing I knew he had jumped off the wall and right into the edge of the water.  Oh my goodness!!  I never expected him to do anything like this.  I could not reach all the way down, but I could grab the back of his harness and lift him right back up onto the wall.

Now that tells me two things.  One, I have to keep a better eye on my little "super doggie"; and two, I think I'll buy Pogo his own little swimming pool this year so that he can splash in the water all he wants.  I'll pick up a couple of rubber duckie toys to put in the pool.

Here are photos of one of the swans and a couple of the little ducks that we were enjoying watching.  Have you ever seen a duck smile?  It looks as though the first little duck is actually smiling at us.

Later today, I will pick out a few more photos to share.  There was a new duck in the pond this year, but I still have to crop his photos so I'll post those on Sunday.

Our temperature went down a few degrees today, but tomorrow it should be back up in the 50'sF.  Joe promised to help me clean out the garden on the other side of the house, and to cut back the butterfly bushes.

Today I want to try to make it to my grandson Kevin's baseball game.  It's the first game of the season played at home, and they will be playing in a regular baseball stadium.  The city of Brockton has it's own baseball team, the Brockton Rox, and the high school varsity baseball team gets to play all of its home games in the Brockton Rox stadium.  How exciting for these kids.

One of our dwarfs is in the hospital, so I want to give her a call now to see how she is doing.  I will post more when I'm sure she is alright.  Well, that's all my news for today.  So till Sunday, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Sometimes it happens that you are just too tiered to have a good sleep. Real funny, but true.
Glad you finally caught some good winks.
Looks you and Pogo had a nice time in the park!
And how courages that little guy was, jumping of that wall all to the edge of the water LOL!
Could be a good idea, that swmming pool for him in the garden. But also it might happen, that he just takes a look at it and leaves it. We never can tell for sure how our pets will react, do we?
You have a great time watching the baseball game of Kevin's team, hope they win!
Oh, a dwarf in hospital? Nothing too serious, I hope?
Take it easy, are you working again this weekend? Then you really should take some rest in between your activities.
Have a great weekend
Hugs

The loss of sleep is the worse thing, I hate those nights.

You must have been so frightened when Pogo jumped down there...I would not have expected that from him. It's good he's tiny and you could "reel him" back in.

I wish I were there to watch Kevin play baseball with you! What a joy that must be for you! How proud I would be to have that baseball player in my phamily! That Pogo is a quick fellow. LOL! He is a fearless lil guy isn't he? I remember that about Roxanne. She challenged the big dogs all the time and the cats and she always won! All 6 lbs. of her before she got so ill. She was a lil diva! Bandit is small too but older and he tries like mad to chase the other two. Smokey is 75 lbs. and Stella about 50 and he is 12! Yet he runs the backyard with them and they kick up dust and chase each other til they all fall asleep on the sofa! HaHaHa! You take care of yourself. I know you had a great time watching Kevin play ball. So rest and hope the dwarf is better very soon. Keep us posted. Hugs, Anne
