Yikes! It's Slushing!

March 31, 2014

Good morning, and I'm so glad March is finally over!   It is certainly going out in grand style this year.  It seems like it has been raining forever.  It rained again all day yesterday, and while it was pouring rain all through the night, it was also snowing.  This morning everything was coated with a layer of white slush.  Yuk!!  To make matters worse, it is still raining!

Last night after the Mrs was tucked in for the night, I worked on my new crochet project again.  As much as I tried, that lacy portion of the pattern finally proved to be too confusing for me so I ripped it all out and made an adjustment that works out better for me.

Sad to say, I just don't have the patience for a pattern that takes me two hours to put on one row.  It would not have been so bad, but I could not understand how to even start the second row of that lacy portion.  This new pattern will work up faster and be just as pretty.

This morning, Kyra sent me some new links for craft blogs that offer patterns.  My favorite link was the Red Heart link.  I use that brand of yarn a lot, and they offer some wonderful patterns.  I'm sure Kyra won't mind if I share that link with you.  http://www.redheart.com.   Enjoy!!

I guess the one good thing about all this rain is that it is a great time to be crocheting.  And the weight of the yarn on my lap keeps me warm.  It's a win win project.  And it's fun.  And I already have my next project picked out.  Oops, I'm getting ahead of myself!

Sometime this week, I'm hoping to get over to Sears and buy myself a treadmill.  Just a small one that folds up when I'm not using it.  It's probably the only way I'm going to be able to get some decent exercise, and I can stop whenever I need to.

Well, that's all my tidbits for this morning.  Till tomorrow, Y'all stay warm and dry and have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi there. We had a lot of rain on Saturday and then it turned into ice and lots of snow. It will all melt today as it's supposed to be near 60.....spring is coming.
I like the colors in your new project.
Hope you have a great week.

The color combination on the pink crochet project is fantastic! I like that pink camo!

We had a dry and sunny day today, but I didn't get outside to experience it first-hand; I have an icky cold! I think your wake up weather would have made me feel worse though!

Only one of our home teams won for the Holiday today. Unfortunately that also includes a Red Sox ,loss for you and David. :( The Tigers gave me a 50/50 day. But there are 161 games left. :)

I'm going to go take more cough medicine. You keep warm and "Let's go April!"

Hugs, Nani

Yukkie weather you have! May be it are just the last signs of "winter"and soon some better conditions will come to you!
Some patterns are really lovelo, don;t you think? But they are also rather complicated to work them out I do prefer not too complicated patterns, that still look great. And I like more the "written out"patterns, because I have trouble figuring out the charts. I used to read them quite easily long ago, though.
Hmmm, are you sure you are going to buy a treadmill??? Perhaps a good idea but think it over, and be sure that you will use it a lot, other wise it's pity for the money.
Sending some smiles over to you and hopes for quickly change of weather!
Hugs
Kyra

I actually like your new pattern for the throw. I've always loved a ripple afghan and the colors are so lovely.

Thanks for the link to the red heart yarn site. I am making some hats for my daughter-in-law who is going through chemo and I found some cute ones there.
