It's Back To Work Time (Groan, Groan)

March 18, 2014

Good morning.  Boy oh boy did I ever sleep good last night!  I did not want to get up this morning but Pogo insisted.  The sun is shining this morning, and the temperature is supposed to get up to the mid 30's today.  The rest of the week should be in the mid 40's with a day in the mid 50's.  Gosh, I hope this upward trend is here to stay.

Today I have another delivery of  fuel oil coming.  The furnace seems to be drinking it right up as if it were soda.  Yesterday the weatherman was saying how wicked high the cost of heating a home this winter was in the mid-west part of the country.  He mentioned an average figure of around $2600.  If only that was all my bill came to.  The cost of heating fuel and electricity is disgusting.  I imagine the folks using natural gas are finding their costs are wicked high this winter too.

Just recently, I saw on TV that the president promised a billion dollars in aid to some country.  I wonder how many of us folks in this country could have afforded more heating fuel if that billion dollars had been spent on us.  There's something wrong with this picture.

Last night I did not spend time cropping photos to post.  Instead I got caught up on reading some of my favorite blogs.  I really missed this when I was in Florida.  So today I will post some of the cute pictures that friends send to me.  These are all from the web, and I hope they put a smile on your face.

Well, now I have a few dishes in the sink waiting to be washed.  I also have to go to Town Hall to pay a bill, but first I must wait for the fuel oil delivery to get here.  Tonight is a work night for me (my friend at work who has been filling in for me needs a night off) so I'm hoping to catch a nap this afternoon.  That's my news for today, so till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I wish you could have stayed another week. BEsides the computer problems, I could tell you were so relaxed and having fun. That fuel bill is terrible. I won't complain of our heating expenses. Hopefully this coldness will soon be ending. Love the pictures. What kind of animal is the first picture. It looks like a mouse but it is adorable. Have a good day back at work. ((((HUGS)))

Hi my singing friend. Loved your "Happy Birthday" message. I wasn't home when you called and my FH said, I think Edna called, better check your messages. What a nice surprise. I wish I had been here to talk to you.

Glad you are home and getting back to your routine ... though going to work is not so fun, sorry.

I have to say that I don't blame the President for not spending money on us because he has asked the congress to pass a number of bills that would put money into our pockets and into our country infrastructure ... and guess what? Someone won't even bring the bills to the floor for debate. Doesn't sound very much like a democracy to me when it is more important to discredit the President then it is to support the country.

Loved your pictures ... all of them and like the others I love the last one of the smart little chipmonk. He has it all figured out.

I have to go down and fix dinner. I have had a busy week already and it isn't over yet. Something going on every day. I am having a hard time commenting on my blog ... way behind. I truly look forward to a free moment then I will be able to catch up with my blogging frinds. Thanks again, Edna, for the Birthday song and for the postcard ... you're the best!

Pity you already have to go to work so soon.
I bet you could have done with a couple more days to just enjoy being home again LOL.
Don;t talk about the costs for heating!
We have gas here, but it is high as ever. And what is more distressing that it isn;t the actual gas price that makes the bill so high, no, it;s all the costs extra they put onto it, like transport, VAT, and such!
Those photos of the little critters are awesome!
Well, have a good day and a good shift, I think the Mrs, will be happy to see you again.
Hugs
