A Foggy Mandarin Orange Monday

January 6, 2014

Good morning.  Wowee, is it ever foggy here this morning.  I thought I might get some decent sunrise photos this morning, but nope.  It was very foggy, and has been getting foggier since.   Here's what it was like most all the way home this morning.

I am so glad I do not have to go on the highway on my way to and from work.  This is the on ramp by my town.  It's on the left.  You can barely see a car turning on to it.

I thought for sure it would be clearing up as I got closer to home, but this is the intersection where I turn down a little side street near my home.

Pogo and I went out shortly after 9 a.m. to go the bank, and it was still like this all the way to the bank.  As I look out my window now, it is beginning to clear up a little bit, at least in my yard and in front of my house.  We have a dense fog alert, and it hasn't been lifted yet.

For QJ, if you really want that tee shirt, you can find it in the "Potpourri" catalogue on page 23.  Or you can go online to http://potpourrigift.com.  This catalogue has some of the neatest stuff!!

Today is Mandarin Orange Monday, and I have something sweet for you.   A whirly twirly lollipop.  It's not what I started out to make, but it's what I ended up with.  There were so many layers involved that I don't really remember what I did to end up with this.

Can you guess what the original photo was?  A leaf from a tiny weed that I plucked from the driveway.   It's a great little weed, and I've used for several bits of digital art.

Now I think I'll dig out the checkbook and pay some bills.  It's amazing how there are always bills to be paid.  As soon as you put them out in the mailbox, new one's come in.  After that, I think I'll curl up with my new "Find A Word" puzzle book and relax.

That's all the news for today.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Wow your MOM is smashing. You really are getting into the abstract. I love how you made it into a Lollypop. Haven't had one of those in a long time, but yours looks really tempting.

The fog is pretty scary to drive in. It doesn't look as though you have much visability. I'm sure glad you got home safely. We haven't had any fog in awhile ... have to have moisture in the air and our air is bone dry. It was - 18 when I got up this morning and now it is -8 and dropping again. Never made it out of the minuses today. Izzi really got the potty spot I dug for her in the yard. She runs out the door, down the walk into the little path I dug into her potty spot, goes potty and runs back to the house. She knows it is not good to be out in this. I am using her thunder shirt like a coat and putting vasoline on her nose along with her boots. It is still too cold for her, but at least she won't get frost bite.

I am babysitting two awesome birds and they are so much fun. I know, how can a raptor be fun ... well they do have personalities and I get the greatest kick out of holding them on the glove. I will post pictues eventually. Well, I have a very demanding Big boy cat sitting at my side insisting on some rubbies so I had better go for now. Hope your fog clears up so you and Pogo and get out and about ... Be well, my friend.

So glad you arrived safely home! That is a really dense fog you have there.
Oh, those bills always are there LOL!
And several of them arrive always on a Saturday morning in the mailbox, just as if they want to spoil your weekend!
Cannot linger on too log, as we have a busy day today with those decorations!
If there still stays on this fog and you don;t have to go out, better stay in, always tricky to drive in it!
Hugs

I just LOVE your twirly lollipop! You must have had so much fun doing it...no wonder you don't remember what you did. The same happens to me when i am really enjoying myself.
I agree with Andrea...about the fog too...so scary...how did you ever manage to drive in it??!
We have been reading about your cold weather here in Australia..... it must be awful to experience that cold. I am glad your Spring isn't far away.
And, thanks for sharing on Mandarin Orange Monday #75:)
