71 Days Till Spring

January 9, 2014

Good morning.  I do believe I've caught a cold.  Ugh, ugh, ugh!  I seem to be coughing a lot lately, so I've had to dig out the cough drops and the cough syrup.  I suppose it's my own fault though.  I don't know enough to stay away from people who a re sick.  Ah well, this shall pass.

I have such a busy day today.  I try not to schedule everything to happen on one day, but other people set up appointments to suit their schedules.  This morning the house insurance folks are coming out to do their "once in a while with no warning" check to make sure the house is still standing and in good shape.  About the same time, my accountant will be stopping by to go over a few financial matters.

I have to call the prescription insurance plan, but I will have to wait until these other folks have left.  These new RX plans are not so easy to set up.  I spent hours in the Fall just trying to get myself enrolled, and now they say I have to do it all over again because they could not set up my account until the first time I called in after the first of January.  Why did they not tell me this before?  I'd have been on the phone on January 2.

When Joe gets home from work this afternoon, I have to take him food shopping, so I'll do mine at the same time.  We have to be back home by the time Wayne gets out of work because Wayne is coming over to update my Internet Explorer.  Phew!  I hope I can stay awake tonight long enough to watch the final episode of my TV program.

Yesterday afternoon, DIL Janet came by after work and we had a wonderful supper and visit together.  I have to say I am a very lucky lady to have such a wonderful daughter in law.  She is so very good to me.

These folks will be showing up soon, so I'll leave you with a few pictures of "kitty do's" that I photographed from the TV a while ago.

Now I must get ready to greet these folks.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay warm and have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

First I want to thank you for yesterday’s photo: Ahhh…it did make me feel warmer for a few seconds, so I looked again. Now I’m thinking of stealing it and making it my wallpaper! LOL But right now I love my 2014 wallpaper…which I guess I just committed to showing in the blog post I’m writing for tomorrow morning. I think you’ll like it as a fellow digital artist and coffee fan. It’s not MY digital art though)

Sorry to hear about (another) cold! I think you’re a victim of your own compassionate self not staying away from sick folks! It could also be this darned weather. We had a low of 15 below just a couple nights ago and Saturday’s expected high is 42! Maybe the combination of the weather and other sick people… Just take care of you, okay?

I had a phone busy day; the face to face days start tomorrow. I’d never get a wig on any of the cats, but Pogo would wear booties. But boots to go out to potty vs wigs, I think they’re all pretty smart! :)

It’s snowing. When I see my counselor tomorrow she may say to cancel the rest of her appointments. Hehehe I’m just going to finish up that post for tomorrow.

Hugs, Nani

Oh no, not another cold. Load up on Vitamin C. Have you ever taken Emergen C. Not sure that is how it is spelled. It works great if you think you are getting something. You are just a kind soul that is very caring to check on others. Feel better. You will have had a busy day.

Well your busy day has past already ... hope you were able to accomplish everything. I am like you, I try not to schedule to many things in one day because by the last thing I am a little goofy ... who knows what come of it:)

Did you get your flu shot this year? I sure hope so because it sounds like your immune system is copping out on you a little. You know the drill, Vitamin C, zinc, fluids and rest ... have at it lady, you need to stay well.

I am beginning to feel like I am running a zoo. I spend over an hour in the morning feeding outside birds, inside birds, cats, dog and last but not least me. Then I have to do it all over again in the evening ... Good Grief! But, wouldn't have it any other way. I love my animanl kingdom even if it is work. Bet you never thought I would be agreeable to doing more work. I really am not, but in this case I make an exception.
Izzi's skills classes started again last night and she ran her little heart out. She is so stir crazy from being shut in for so many days ... she was loving the exercise. My hubby took her out today to play Frisbee and she lasted longer than he was able to in the cold. It is finally warming up (warm ... in the 20's , Ha!). I was supposed to go downtown with my daughter (dentist) tomorrow, but we canceled because we are supposed to have freezing rain all night tonight and all day tomorrow. Snow I can live with, but freezing rain usually means ice and I don't do ice. So, I will have to find something else to do tomorrow ... like I don't have a million choices, most of which I would perfer to avoid. I am guessing you are pretty tired tonight ... Hope you make it through your program and then get a good nights rest ... Take care of yourself. We don't want you getting sick!!!!

Great thing, isn'it, that other people make your schedule, like insurance etc?? Then you have to fit in your own plans, but often is difficult because the "others"don;t tell an exact time of their visit. Oh I HATE that!
My dear, how did you catch that new cold???? You;re not a lucky lady lately. Hope it will pass quick, without too much trouble for you!
Till now we have been spared from flu or real colds, but it may always strike us a bit later , which I don;t hope for of course.
If you go out, pack in yourself in warm clothes, and home again, snuggle in a warm fleece, and take a nap !
Hugs

I am amazed that I did not visit any of my blog friends this whole week, I do not know where all my time goes anymore! I must say I have been busy scrapping for my niece and my "sister" Nina a few special pages and I did read 2 books and snuggled in for the cold snap (we only got down to 12 with a wind chill of -2, but that was horrible for us. I had to scramble around and make some more "condo spaces" for the outside Mama cat and her 5 babies too! Thank Goodness we only had 3 days that was so unbearable and it stayed dry. Now we are headed back up to the 60's and 70's but now we have the heavy fog and rain. We are seriously fighting battles of the flu (21 deaths so far this winter) and I am staying at home and away from crowds. It took a while to catch up with your blog, but I finally did. Thanks for all the photos and the jokes made me smile a lot. Hope you are beginning to thaw and please take care of that cough and don't let it develop into anything more. Have a nice peaceful weekend! Hugs, Mat
