Groan, Groan, More Snow On The Way!

December 12, 2013

Good morning.  Gosh, I hope everyone in Bloggerland is able to stay warm during this wicked cold spell that is upon us. I can't recall us having so many widespread storms in years past.  Actually, I don't remember us having such a constant barrage of bad weather all across the country.

I have the Weather Channel on a lot these days to get an idea of what to expect with this next snow storm that is heading our way.  I work on weekend nights, and I'm not so happy about the snow hitting us on the weekend.

At work, we used to be able to park our cars in the barn at night, but the door opener broke, so now we park in the driveway.  That means a ton of shoveling just to get the car out on to the road.  Now that's the part I really don't like.  When I was younger, shoveling was such a fun thing but no so anymore.

I got another surprise in the mail yesterday.  A package arrived, and Pogo promptly told me to put it under the tree "unopened".  Seems he was busy doing his shopping on line when I wasn't looking.  He keeps his eye on me too to make sure I'm not over at the tree poking and prodding to find out what is in the box.  lol.

I also got a nice surprise from Kyra a few days ago in my email.  She made me another gorgeous scrap page of my wonderful little guy.  You can find the kit she used, "A Story Told" if you scroll back into her November kits.  Doesn't this just put a huge smile on your face?

I also have an image to share that my daughter Deanne sent to me.  I had never seen this flag before, and it is just awesome.  It's called the Flag Of Honor, and has all the names of the people who died in the terrorist attack on 911.  I've also made a small close up so that you can actually see the names.

I have just had the unpleasant task of having to call the oil company to schedule another fuel delivery for tomorrow.  I want to make sure we have a full fuel tank before all this new snow gets here.  If I get a chance, I'd also like to go shopping for a snow blower to make Joe's job of shoveling a lot easier for him.  My problem will be getting the snow blower into the car to bring it home.  Hmmmm, we'll have to figure a way to solve this problem.

Well, now it's time for me to get dressed and busy around here.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay warm and have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I am thinking that the snow you get is usually coming from out our way. The last snow we had, which was two nights ago, was very light and fluffy ...even I was able to shovel the walks. Hopefully yours will be the same so that digging your car out won't be so bad.

We are still in the below "0" mode. I bought Izzi some boots which she despises, but she wears them. When I first put them on she was lifting her feet up high like a prancing horse but by the time we got outside with them she was fine. They don't do well with the Frisbee games though ... they go flying off in all directions, so we really can't stay out long at all before her little bare feet are hurting.

Kyra sure knows how to show off your Pogo. I love the way he looks like he is eating the snow ... I bet he would love to eat snow if he could get past how cold it is outside:)

I have seen pictures of the flag before. It is a beautiful honor and a good reminder ... we must never forget!

And, I think it is awesome that Pogo went Christmas shopping behind your back ... what a clever little boy. I will be excited to hear what he bought for you. Cute idea, whoever the perpetrator is.

Today I am taking my daughter out to buy her a new bed. That is what she wants for Christmas and since she spends a lot of time in her room I think it is a great idea. Then we are going to lunch at a Greek Restaurant ... it used to be our favorite, but they were closed and torn down and reaplaced with a Walgreens ... like we need another drug store:( Anyway, to make a long story short, I ran into the owner at Walmart and she told me they had opened another restaurant and told me where it is ... woo hoo , we are going today and I am thinking about a hot bowl of soup:) Well, Edna, I am working on another post and tomorrow I have Izzi's post to do, so I better get going. You have a warm, cozy day, my friend. And snuggles to Pogo from Izzi ...

Oh, Edna, we here on the east coast are really getting it this year, aren't we? I am not looking forward to Saturday's snow either. Since I also work weekends, this is not fun. Maybe it won't be too bad. That is a good idea to get the oil beforehand, though.

Stay warm and stay away from that gift from Pogo. You can open it in due time. Just be patient.

Hugs, Kathy

Morning! It is still below freezing here and still lots of white ice in the places the sun hasn't hit yet, but....the temps are steadily climbing each day. I was finally able to get to both my vehicles to start them and am glad both started. So glad they got to finish your house for you and that Pogo was able to get your gift delivered, be a good girl and wait for CHRISTmas to come, I bet Pogo will wait for his....LOL!
Beautiful page of Pogo by that very talented Kyra...and the photos are terrific too! Love your gentle giants. All power has been restored around here and hopefully no more ice for us...it is to rain tomorrow, but will be in the upper 40's and guess it will melt whatever lingers. No more below freezing at night either. Yippee! I certainly feel for those that will have weeks and months of the icy cold and snowy weather. I moved south to get away from it...LMBO!
Y'all stay warm and have a great weekend! Chat more with you next time. Hugs, Mat

The flag is very impressive and I like the way they incorporated the names into the image.

Snow might be pretty but so far I don't miss it.

What a nice surprise Pogo made you by mail! But... don;t be naughty and leave it unopened till Christmas(it's hard, but we can manage that, once a yeardon;t we??? LOL)
Not great that you are still expecting more snow. Be careful if you have to drive in it to work and back home again. Hopefully the snowfall will not be to dense, so that choveling away the snow on your car will not be too difficult.
We still have no snow here, and none is to be expected for the next few days, hoorray!
Be careful on the road, hoepfully the Mrs will have a rather good mood,
Hugs
Kyra
