What A Fabulous Day I Had! Thank You.

November 5, 2013

Good morning.  I want to thank everyone for all the beautiful birthday wishes.  What a special day I had, and you all helped to make it that way.  There were more cards from the dwarfs, e-cards, and a singing card from a very special doggy named Izzi and her Mom, Andrea.

Last night, DIL Janet called to sing Happy Birthday over the phone, and later today Deanne and Eddie and the kids are taking me to dinner.  Wow!  The happies go on!  So thank you everyone for a fabulous day.

I had brought a couple of gift catalogues home from work yesterday, so of course, I had a bit of fun ordering a few things on line.  I also subscribed to get my own copies of the catalogues.  Spending an afternoon browsing gift catalogues is cheap and fun.

I found a tee shirt in one of the catalogues that I thought would be fun for my friends with kitty cats.  It pretty much says it all!

The mail brought a few more shopping packages yesterday.  As soon as a few more get here, I can start wrapping things and putting them into mailer boxes.  I like to have all my mailer boxes ready for the Post Office by December 1.   I like to have my cards ready for mailing by then too.

Later this week or next, I'm hoping to go shopping for the rest of the things on my holiday shopping list.  That will leave the last two weeks before Christmas to make my fruit baskets.  I'm beginning to get with the spirit.

First, I need to shop for a turkey for Thanksgiving.  It doesn't matter if no one is around to eat the bird once it is cooked.  I will let it cool down, then pick it all apart and package the meat to freeze (for future salads).   I love turkey salad, so I will keep one package of the meat out and make a big bowl of turkey salad.  Yum!!

This morning, I received another estimate for the work on my house, so now I will have to get busy and call the company to see how soon they can start doing the work.  I need to  get it done before the really nasty winter weather sets in.  In the Spring, I will think about power washing the house and maybe repainting the back of it.  Hmmm, it's always something.

On that note, it's time for me to get dressed and start this new day.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oh, my friend, I missed your big day. I am so glad that it was a good one. Happy Birthday.
You do have the spirit. I used to like to have all my shopping done by the end of October. That hasn't happened for several years now. I do stay away from the malls after Thanksgiving. I need to start thinking about gifts. Have a good rest of the week.

Wonderful to read your birthday was a nice one!
Tell us what you had for dinner with Deanne and Eddie!
Good idea of the turkey. Having some packs in the freezer is always handy!
Aweful in one way to be owner of a house, because the work on it never ends.
Hopefully you found a good and not too expensive contractor and let him start quickly, so all will be done before real winter weather comes along.
Have a lovely day.
