Photo Art Friday

October 4, 2013

Good morning.  It's a bit cloudy outside and the temperature is around 65F degrees, working its way up to around 71.  Not too bad for this time of year.  Especially when I am watching the Weather Channel and seeing all the snow that is falling in the Mid West.  I am so not ready for any of that white stuff!

Yesterday was such a fun day after all.  I got to spend about five hours with a few of the dwarfs, and it was nice.  We chatted and shared a few photos.  I got my blog posted, and paid some bills.  Late morning, the oil burner man showed up to clean out the furnace so now we are ready for the heating season.

Later in the afternoon, I took Joe food shopping.  I figured that Pogo and I deserved a nice supper so I bought us a roasted chicken.  Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm.  Pogo licked his plate clean!  I also bought some sliced turkey breast for my little man.  I'm trying to wean him away from some of the bologna by replacing it with turkey.  We shall see if it works.

Today is Photo Art Friday at PDPA and the challenge is "Sky".  I used one of my photos of the sky over downtown here, and applied a couple of filter textures to it.  Then I changed it to black and white and adjusted some of the color tint.  It's okay, but I like color better.

I also have a couple of photos of some of the gorgeous trees in the parking lot at our local McDonalds.  This year, the trees are so very beautiful.

I think this close up shot is pretty enough to frame and hang on a wall.  Which reminds me, I have to get busy and decide if I'm going to be printing and framing any new photos to hang around here and out in main part of the house.  Prices are always good this time of year.

I also have to call up about my new blog books.  I ran into a snag trying to set up one of them, so I will be needing a bit of help from the company's customer service.  After that I can concentrate on this year's Christmas card and my new calendar.  This critter situation has chewed into such a huge chunk of my time this year.  It's difficult to be creative when you are dealing with serious situations.  Now it's time to buckle down and get a lot of these things done.

Maybe later this afternoon, Joe will have a chance to plant the new flower bulbs.  It's been a busy week, but this needs to be done while the weather is still decent.  I bought some Iris bulbs with new colors, two pink and two black.  I also got a few more colors of the lilies.  Hmmm, it should be quite colorful in the garden next year.

Here's another pretty photo of a nearby side street.  I take a lot of photos of this area because it is so darn pretty.  It seems like there are new colors there every day.

Now it's time to adorn this body of mine with some clothing and start putting a few of my things back in place.  This will take some time to finish but I'm in no rush.  I'm hoping to get rid of a lot of it as I go along.  So till tomorrow, Y'all be well and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Lovely fall colors and I really liked the sky photo. I need to snap some more sky shots for my stock photo collection. I tend to forget to look up.

Lovely photos of the Autumn colours. We on the other hand have our trees just starting to produce leaves and the blossoms were on the fruiting trees but with the strong winds we have had lately a lot of them have been blown off.

I think I prefer the sky with colour rather than a black and white but nice photo nonetheless.

We're at the start of a long weekend so it's cleanup time in the yard after the strong winds of this past week.

You and Pogo have a great weekend.

Hugs

Very pretty fall shots there. The trees have just started changing here.

I think the BW shot of the sky was quite nice.

Seems you had a really nice day. Splendid!
With the bug-man gone now, yes, you can start putting things back. One thing good about it is that, as you suggested, one cansort things out and may be even get rid of some things.
As is the case heretoo, becayuse of the painting. We had to move some things around to reach all spots, and then some closets are too heavy to do so. Result: we have to take things out of it and before putting all back again, we did sort a few things out.
Don't overdo it however, leave some playing time for you too LOL!
Have a great day.

Love the way the cloud is backlit. Your treatment is subtle and perfect!
It's nice to capture an image so full of light!
