Xfinity WiFi On The Go?

June 12, 2013

Again, it's good afternoon.  I started to post here an hour and twenty minutes ago, but then an ad (from my cable company)  came on TV, and I stopped to call my cable company to learn more about the "wifi on the go" that the ad was all about.  The phone lasted an hour and fifteen minutes.

Well actually, it was two phone calls.  The first phone call was 25 minutes, and then the lady who "knew nothing about what I was asking" said she would transfer me.  She did.  To a dial tone.  Having someone hang up on me frustrates me wicked bad.

I called back, and the next person actually took the time to help.  Although I must say that the help really had not much to do with the TV ad that I was inquiring about.  It seems that the product that was being touted as "included in my service at no extra cost" did not exist any more.  Xfinity no longer offers Wi Fi On The Go.

Instead, they offer an ap for your tablet or phone, that once installed on the device, will allow you to find a hotspot in the area where you are (if there is one).   This ap is free till December 31, 2013.  I must assume that after that there will be a fee for this service.

So, for the time being, I will go online and add some time to my Mobile Broadband stick so that I can go online while I am at work.  However, I will be checking around for a better and less expensive way to do this.

Today, let me share some photos of my roses.  All this rain is creating havoc in my gardens.  It's rotting blooms, knocking whole plants to the ground, and knocking lots of petals off the flowers.  These photos were taken in between bouts of rainfall when the sun was shining.

I also called the nail salon and made an appointment to have my nails done tomorrow morning.  So, that means that all my errands will get done tomorrow.  This afternoon, I will sit down and pay some bills.  Then I will feel like I have accomplished something this week.

Now I need to get dressed and get busy around here.  There are dishes in the sink that need washing, and daughter in law will be coming soon.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Well, I knew there was something out there for you to have internet at work ... and apparently you already have it. I didn't realize it was expensive, but surely worth it, right? I will be glad to chip in to keep you on line if that would help:)

I am sorry about the rains messing with your flowers, though the pictures of your roses would never imply damage ... they are beautiful. I especially like the middle one, just because I love the color.

Errands, errands ... they never seem to end. This morning I took Izzi for an "Adjustment" by her Canine Sports Medicine doctor, then went for food and took Diva in for her Rabies and distemper shots. Then this afternoon I took my daughter to therapy and tonight Izzi has skills class. I tried to get all of that done today so tomorrow I could go shopping for Father's Day. We have two father's in our family, my husband and my son, so shopping is a must. Don't have a clue what I will get them, but I will start with cards and progress from there.

We are under a serious storm watch at the moment. It is not raining or blowing, but you can hear the rumbling thunder in the distance. It seems like it might go by south of us which would be nice (though I wouldn't mind a little rain), but the maps all say it is heading right toward us. It will probably pour while Izzi and I are out so we'll get soaked either going or coming home. Hope not :( Well, best get my act together. I have to make sure Hubby has food for his dinner before I take off. Can't let the poor boy starve ... like that would happen :) Be well, Edna. Licks and Woofs to Pogo from Izzi ...

It seems there always is a hidden catch in offers that seem to be for free.
You should take a good look around if there is another possibility to have internet at work.
Oh my God you have lots of different roses, and how beautiful they are!
Yes, pity that too much rain can damage them a bit.
Have a great day. Oh, and errands can wait till a next day LOL!

Just looking at the rose buds beginning to unfurl was exciting for me - I could almost smell the sweet smell of roses - summer must be right around the corner.
