I'm Getting A Late Start Today

May 9, 2013

Good morning.  Well, soon it will be afternoon.  I've been busy doing little bits of nothing all morning.  Sometimes that's the way my day goes.  The most exciting thing that I will probably do today is laundry, or maybe food shopping.  Well, actually, it is exciting to still be able to do these things.

I haven't been to a class reunion in a very long time.  But then, there's hardly any of my friends from school still around.  This is why I say it is exciting to still be able to do ordinary things.  Hopefully, I'll still be clicking my camera when the big 100 comes around.

I went out to get my mail a little while ago, and there was a robin and a sparrow sharing a puddle.  While they splashed away, I ran to get my camera, and was able to get a couple of shots before they flew away.

We've been having rain showers off and on lately.  Here's a shot of some of the rain clouds.  They might look menacing, but they sure are awesome.

Yesterday, I dropped Pogo off at the beauty salon, and then went shopping at Christmas Tree Shoppes.  This is one store you cannot go into without a pocket full of money.  Around every corner is something you just have to have.  However, I tried to be good, and only half filled my shopping wagon.  I needed to save room for the the two huge cartons that contained white wrought iron benches.  I thought they would look great in my yard.

I have another rather different frame for you today.  This one is a train (Dover & me).  Have fun with it.

There's not much news today so I think maybe I'll look for some mischief to get into around here.  The vacuum cleaner keeps winking at me.  I think it's trying to tell me something.  Oh well.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Well, when I went to the mailbox this morning there were no Robins or Sparrows, but, lo and behold ... Sandhill Cranes:) What a wonderful surprise and I am simply amazed at your pictures. You had to be standing right next to them ... what a rare treat. I love these Edna, as you knew I would. Thank you so much :)

Well, after my little espose' on procrastinating about my lawn yesterday ... here I am today and guess what, the grass is still long and it is raining. Not hard, but raining hard enough to make the grass too wet to mow. So am I a success ... I managed to get out of mowing the grass, but now I will have to use the bag which is ten times the work, Ugh. I am my own worst enemy.

Yesterday Izzi and I went to class and she did fine. I wasn't sure how she would be feeling because of all of the shots she got at the Vet. But today, she is a little droopy. I think it is catching up with her. Or maybe she is just unhappy because she can't go out to play when it is raining.

I am witnessing a crow vs duck exchange out by my tree. The crows don't want the ducks here because they eat the "duck food" ... and the crows like it too. Strange! I need to take Izzi out, she is ringing her bell, but want to thank you one more time for the wonderful pictures ... I may want to use them sometime on my blog if you would allow that ... giving full credit, of course. Thanks Edna and you have a wonderful day.

You KNOW I'll find use for today's frame!

I'm excited when I do ordinary things, but as much as I'd like to be able to do laundry and clean the cat boxes, I have to admit that for all my challenges there are some rewards too. hehehe

You need to have a big party for 100 and just wallpaper the hall with prints of your photos!

We're scheduled for storms tomorrow, which of course is a late day for David and we have a bunch of errands to do. (Darned Murphy!)But the clouds look great like yours right before it starts pouring, which it will do overnight.

You have to share some coiffed photos of Pogo! :)

Hugs, Nani

It's always difficult to walk around in a store where prices are real nice and then you ALWAYS see something you almost cannot resist LOL!
You make a photo of the benches you took home, okay?
Saw the other day on tv a program, where they just talked about all the different clouds that appear in the sky. There are some weird shapes and they are soooo mighty! Was an interesting bit of information.
I think my vacuum cleaner will be calling out to me too today, sigh!
Oh well, it;s done quickly and after the "work"you feel satisfied a bit.

I just love the moody sky with all those gray clouds. Gray has always been one of my favorite colors, not sure why because I love bright colors but the gray is so soothing and restorative to my soul.
