March 1st, And It's Almost Spring!

March 1, 2013

Helllloooooo March!!  Good morning.  Unless the forecast has changed, today through Sunday is supposed to be a nice.  Oops, spoken too soon.  The forecast (which has just come on TV, has  changed to some rain and/or snow showers that whole time.  Wahhhhhhhhhhhhh!  Couldn't it wait for me to leave?

Well, my suitcase is half packed.  All the laundry is done and the bills are paid.  And I think there are only a few more things to do before it's time to leave for vacation.  In a couple of hours I will go to the service station up the street and have the new wiper blade put on my car.  This afternoon I will clean out the refrigerator.  Afterwards, I can finish the packing.

Wayne was here last night and cleaned a lot of junk from my laptop.  Did I ever tell you what a sweetie he can be?  When he was done, he set up my Xfinity account on my laptop and my tablet.  Now I can watch TV and movies on my laptop and tablet.  At the condo in Florida, the choices in TV stations is awful.  But now I will be able to watch my regular programs.  (on my laptop)

Today I need to put some more time on my Broadband stick for just in case.  I get rather testy when I find there is no internet when I am on vacation.  Actually, "testy" is being kind.  I get downright cranky!!  lol.

Today is Photo Art Friday at PDPA, and the theme is "Vintage".  I used a photo that I took of the snow covered trees on my way home from work this past weekend.  This first photo is the original.

I used a "Vintage Color" filter from Color Efex Pro 4, and then applied PDPA's "Blue Missive" texture to the photo to get this result.

Now I think it's time for me to get dressed and start the day here.  Eddie will be here soon to do a bit of electrical work, and I want to get the last few errands finished up.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

wow, what glorious photos you have taken, love the vintage look to the snow covered trees. The yellow primrose is fabulous too!
So happy you have everything under control so you can leave and feel no pressures about leaving! Hope all goes well with the flight and that Pogo does well on it.
Glad you got all situated for your programs and your laptop running nicely!
Enjoy yourself and your trip and your daughter. Hope she and Pogo have a great time together too!
God Bless and watch over you on your journey! Hugs, Mat

I adore the winter and love pristine, white snow scenes - but in this case I prefer your vintage edit by far.

You are so organized ... I would probably be pulling my hair out at this point not knowing what to do first. Your vacation should be a joy ... and now Infiniti, OMG, you surely won't want to come home again.

Love your Vintage ... love snow scenes, but other than your Vintage, I have seen enough of them for this year. Though that doesn't seem to matter to the Man upstairs, as he continues to pour it on. The raccoons were out for a quick round of the feeders so when I got up this morning I was out of suet ... and the cupboard was bare, ugh! The woodpeckers were all scolding me when I left without putting out their suet ... so had to run to the store and stock up again. Boy, they are eating me out of house and home this year. I think it is that little flock of Starlings ... they eat relentlessly. I have actually had to put more out toward the end of the day to make sure my late comers (the cardinals) had something to take to bed with them.

This week flew for me ... it is Friday already and it feels like it was just Monday. Maybe it didn't go so fast for you since you are waiting for your special day. Did you get your seditive for Pogo? I haven't heard you mention it for awhile. Well, the bell is ringing downstairs and Izzi just ate, so I don't dare ignore it. I will talk to you before you leave Sunday and then I will wait to hear how nice and warm you are when you arrive at your destination. Happy Traveling, Edna ...

Absolutely love the vintage look you gave the snow photo.

Waaahhhh you're getting excited for Spring, it only means one thing for me.....Winter is just around the corner.

Safe travels to you and Pogo. Look forward to hearing about your adventures together.

The wintery scene looks great. The original is nice but the sepia tones give it an entirely different feel that is very appealing. Enjoy your trip.
