Mandarin Orange Monday And A Freebie

March 11, 2013

Good morning.  It's early yet (only 7:30 a.m.) and Pogo is still sleeping.  Today is going to be a warm one (low 80's) with some rain part of the day.  So, it will be a perfect day to set back and do the laundry and get a bit more knitting done.

Today is Mandarin Orange Monday, and I have a few "orange" to share.  This first one is a sunset that Audrey photographed outside her home.   Must be wonderful to have a view like this!

My next photo is also one that Audrey took.  I have never taken a really nice shot of a rainbow, but this one is just wonderful.  Great job, Audrey!  (Another great view from her porch!)

My last "orange" photo is a shot of some of the flowers that are blooming around here.  Because of the unusually cool weather here this winter, there aren't so many trees and plants blooming yet.  Boo Hoo.  I was so hoping to go home with tons of flower and bird photos this year.  Oh well.

This week I think I am going to just stay close to home and relax.  I'll be doing a lot of sitting out on the porch and either reading, knitting or playing on my laptop.   I'm just not in the mood to be driving around looking for photo ops.  Besides, my body and my breathing have not been really keen on doing a lot of walking lately.

I do have a freebie for you today.  I've made a series of "Deer Ones" papers and QP's that might be good for scrapping that "outdoorsy" man of yours.   Each folder holds a QP and a background paper.  I surely hope you can use them.  All of the backgrounds are made from my photos.  Here's a preview and link for today's set.

Miss Su is still asleep, and I don't know if she will be posting today, so you can check her blog later.  This week she is on vacation and resting.  Good for you Su!

I think today might also be a good day to catch up on one or two photo class assignments.  Right after I drive the trash down to the trash dumpster.  Normally I would walk there, but this year I'll pamper myself and drive.

Now it's time to rustle up some breakfast for Pogo.  He has been so very patient, waiting for me to finish posting.  Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I have to say, I am concerned about you. Your breathing and your legs ... have you had a physical lately? You need to check into why you are having difficulty breathing.

I am sorry your beautiful daughter Audrey (who I think is your spitting image) had to leave. I could tell you were having great fun together. But now Sue is there and, if Pogo will allow it, you two will have a great time this week too. Your daughter's pictures are amazing. I used to see sunsets like that when I visited my parents in Florida ... they just consumed the whole sky. I agree, how lucky she is to have such a view from her home.

So nurse Andrea thinks you should try to do a little walking , if only to the garbage can. If you don't use your muscles they will get weaker. Can't let that happen to you ... however, I hesitate to recommend much of anything until you know why your breathing is an issue. If it is like me ... Asthma, then whip out the inhalers. If not, you need to check it out. I know, harp, harp ... shame on me. But, I am concerned. When I first started following you, you were exercising with a friend, so I am thinking this is a new thing. Be well, Edna ... and enjoy the rest of your vacation. I will be leaving Wednesday for Nebraska and tomorrow I will be doing all the things you can't do until the last minute, so I may not be able to get to the computer. I will be thinking of you though and hoping your trip home is a safe one ... and that you are greeted with some Spring like weather. :)

Take care of yourself, I am a bit concerned about you, now that you say you have a bit breathing trouble and walking too. Some rest will do a lot, but perhaps Andrea is right to suggest to have a physical when you get home?
It also can be of temprarely nature, but keep an eye on it and I hope some really relaxing days can do wonders. Still, a little walk around the condo wouldn't be so bad!
Have a great day, greetings to Su, cuddle to Pogo.

I will save the quick page for the next time a deer walks through our yard. Hopefully I'm able to get a shot. City Deer are so rare and it's always a big deal in the neighborhood when we get one. I LOVE living in a smaller city! You don't see deer in neighborhoods in Detroit!

I am in love with Audrey's porch! Her photos are beautiful! I like the orange flowers too, but I have to admit, this time if it was a competition my favorite nature photographer would take second to her daughter; I love that sunset!

Off to download the deer QP. Thanks!!

Hugs, Nani
