Creating New Art

February 24, 2013

Good morning.  Well, it started snowing yesterday afternoon.  Such great big flakes!  But it did not last too long.  There was just a light covering on my car.  During the night it began raining.  So now instead of snow piles we have puddles.  At the moment, it's not such a bad trade.

I took some photos of the snow while it was coming down.  I'm not sure why, but sometimes you get some very interesting photos.  Here's one of the better ones that I got.  It was late afternoon, and I used the flash.

I thought this might be a good photo to use for photo art.  I started with a gradient in shades of orange and yellow and was really quite pleased with the results I was getting.  Then I started to play with textures, and thoughts of making my new art a bit playful.

I got quite engrossed with my creation, and ended up playing with it for a few hours.  The strange thing about art and creativity is that no matter what you think you might want to create, the piece of art has a mind of its own.  You sometimes have no choice with what you end up with.

The other day was the eighth anniversary of my daughter's passing.  Needless to say, she has been on my mind a lot lately, and these thoughts crept into my new photo art.   I call this "The New Arrival", and will post it on Mandarin Orange Monday tomorrow.  I got the fairy art from Granny Art, and the clouds and stairway from R11.

On my way home work this past Monday morning, I saw a young critter getting ready to come out of a yard.  When it saw my car, it turned and ran back into the yard.  I do hope the folks who live there don't let their small animals out alone.  The critter was a young fisher cat.  Here's a photo that I downloaded from Google to show you what I saw.  (photo author - Jeff Wendorff)

These really are beautiful critters even though they can be quite feisty.  You certainly do not want to try petting one of them.  I wonder what will happen to all our beautiful wildlife when man finishes using up all of their living spaces.  Such a sad thought.

Now I'm off to make a cup of coffee and maybe do a few things around here.  Tonight is a work night for me.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

p.s.  I will not be posting on Mandarin Orange Monday because her Dad passed away this week.

It's a pity that men is taking away the life space of a lot of wildlife.
Good thing is that there are also people who care and try to do something about it.
Not so nice you have a lot of water but I think it is better than snow and ice.
Have a good day.

That is a fabulous photo of the fisher - they are quite elusive and hard to spot. I've never seen one in the wild.
